Centre Of Excellence For Classical Tamil
The Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT) is a body established by the Government of India with a view to promoting the cause of Tamil language, Classical Tamil. It is located in Chennai. History The CICT was formerly known as the Centre of Excellence for Classical Tamil (CECT) and had been functioning at the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, a branch of the Department of Higher Education, Language Bureau, Ministry of Human Resource Development. In May 2008, the CECT was moved to Chennai and was rechristened as the Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT). The chairman of the new institute was the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi. The governing body for Classical Tamil Institute (TLPB) was also changed as ''Aimperumkuzhu'' (literally "5-membered great team") and ''Enperayam'' (literally "8-membered great committee") under two vice-chairmen, V. CECT
CECT is one of the many brands of cellular phones manufactured in China. CECT offered unauthorized clones or replicas of the Apple Inc. iPhone and various Nokia cell phones manufactured in China and sold at a fraction of the price of the original. At least one reseller was subject to legal demands from Apple Inc. CECT also distributed Palm phones in China. iPhone clones The CECT iPhone "clones" had been described as one of a growing number of MediaTek-powered iPhone clones. Two of the differences between the clones and the Apple iPhone are that the "clones" normally have smaller-resolution resistive touch screens (instead of capacitive) and dual SIM card slots. International Institute Of Tamil Studies
The International Institute of Tamil Studies (IITS) is a linguistic research institution based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established with a view to promoting the cause of Tamil language. History The International Institute of Tamil Studies was established in 1970 for Tamil research. In 2014, the then directors Vijayaraghavan and Manavazhagan proposed setting up a cultural center with permanent exhibition to recreate the history of Tamils unraveled by decades of research, and the government approved it in September the same year. The center was opened to the public in a new building in March 2016. Kural Peedam Award
The Kural Peedam Award () is a lifetime achievement presidential award given to eminent scholars of classical Tamil. The award was instituted in 2005 by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (India), Ministry of Human Resource Development in India.
