The Intelligence Heritage Center , commonly known as the Center for Special Studies, CSS, also MLM, MLAM, MALAM (Hebrew abbreviation of the official name) is an Israeli non-profit organization that aims to document and preserve the heritage of the Israeli Intelligence Community and commemorate its fallen. The idea of organization originated during 1979-1983, and it was formally inaugurated in 1985. It is located near the in Ramat HaSharon. MALAM has three main bodies that correspond to the thee main branches of Israeli intelligence: Aman (military intelligence), Mossad (overseas intelligence) and Shin Bet (internal security). In addition, the organization Nativ had an association with MALAM, in its early days, because it was part of the Israeli intelligence. Military Intelligence Directorate (Israel)
The Israeli Military Intelligence (), often abbreviated to Aman (), is the central, overarching military intelligence body of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Aman was created in 1950, when the Intelligence Department was spun off from the IDF's General Staff. Meir Amit
Meir Amit (; 17 March 1921 – 17 July 2009) was an Israeli politician and cabinet minister. He served as the Chief Director and the head of global operations for Mossad from 1963 to 1968, before entering into politics and holding two ministerial positions. Early life Amit was born in Tiberias as Meir Slutsky during the Mandate era, cousin of the Russian-Jewish poet, Boris Slutsky. He later adopted the name Amit which means "colleague" in Hebrew and was called Meir Amit Slutsky. At a young age, he joined kibbutz Alonim in the lower Galilee and enlisted in the Haganah. The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC), also known as Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center in honor of Meir Amit, is an Israel-based research group. ITIC has close ties to the Israel Defense Forces. Its reports on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and Israeli-Lebanese conflict have received media attention. Efraim Halevy
Efraim Halevy (; born 2 December 1934) is an Israeli intelligence expert and diplomat. He was the 9th director of the Mossad and the 3rd head of the Israeli National Security Council. He is known for his part in bringing about the Israel–Jordan peace treaty. The special relationship he developed with King Hussein of Jordan made it possible for Halevy to open Jordan to the awareness that only a peace agreement with Israel would extricate the Hashemite kingdom from the crisis after the Gulf War.
