Caustic Resin
Caustic Resin is an American indie rock band from Boise, Idaho consisting of Brett Netson on guitar and vocals, Tom Romich Jr. on bass guitar, and James Dillion or Pat Perkins on drums. Biography Caustic Resin formed in Boise, Idaho in 1988, the original lineup consisted of guitarist/singer Brett Netson (formerly of local punk outfit the Pugs), bassist Tom Romich Jr., and drummer Pat Perkins. They began playing mostly heavy metal venues, but soon began performing with Treepeople. Netson has long been associated with Doug Martsch, who founded Built to Spill in 1992 with Netson as an original member. Caustic Resin and Built to Spill have continued to collaborate, and released the joint EP, '' Built to Spill Caustic Resin'', in 1995. After signing to Up Records, Caustic Resin subsequently released ''Fly Me to the Moon'' in 1995. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Fly Me To The Moon (Caustic Resin Album)
"Fly Me to the Moon", originally titled "In Other Words", is a song written in 1954 by Bart Howard. The first recording of the song was made in 1954 by Kaye Ballard. Frank Sinatra's 1964 version was closely associated with the Apollo missions to the Moon. In 1999, the Songwriters Hall of Fame honored "Fly Me to the Moon" by inducting it as a "Towering Song". Background and composition In 1954, when "Fly Me to the Moon" was first presented to the public, Bart Howard had been pursuing a career in music for over 20 years. He played piano to accompany cabaret singers, but also wrote songs with Cole Porter, his idol, in mind. Treefort Music Fest is a five-day indie rock festival held at several venues throughout downtown Boise, Idaho in late March. The inaugural festival took place from March 20–23, 2012, featuring Built to Spill, The Joy Formidable, Poliça, and other acts. Treefort has been called "the west’s best SXSW alternative" and "Boise's preeminent artistic, cultural, and musical happening." The festival is organized by Duck Club, a local concert promoter. Dinosaur Jr. is an American rock band formed in Amherst, Massachusetts, in 1984. Originally called Dinosaur, the band was forced to change their name because of legal issues. The band was founded by J Mascis (guitar, vocals, primary songwriter), Lou Barlow (bass, vocals), and Murph (drums). After three albums on independent labels, the band earned a reputation as one of the formative influences on American alternative rock. Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Built To Spill Caustic Resin
''Built to Spill Caustic Resin'' is a split EP released by indie rock bands Built to Spill and Caustic Resin. The EP was a collaboration between the bands. The album attributes songwriting credits for the first two tracks to Built to Spill, the third to Caustic Resin and the last to Tae Won Yu from his time in the band Kicking Giant. Built to Spill's Brett Netson is listed as performing guitar and vocals on Caustic Resin's track "Shit Brown Eyes", while Caustic Resin's Todd Dunnigan is listed as playing organ on "When Not Being Stupid Is Not Enough" and Moog on "One Thing", both songs by Built to Spill. The album was originally released with a cover featuring a photo of newly hatched fish larva and eggs, which had been found in a trash can.
