The Casey Football Club, nicknamed the Demons, is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne East, Victoria, Cranbourne East. The club, which was previously known as the Springvale Football Club (1903–2005) and the Casey Scorpions (2006–16), plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Oakleigh Chargers
The Oakleigh Chargers is an Australian rules football club playing in the Talent League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. They are based at Warrawee Park in Oakleigh, Victoria, representing the southeastern suburban area of Melbourne. The Chargers were one of two additional metropolitan clubs introduced to the competition in 1995 as part of a plan by the Australian Football League, AFL to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft. In June 2008 the Chargers moved into a new pavilion at Warrawee Park, however they rarely play in Oakleigh, if at all. TAC Cup
The Talent League (also known as the Coates Talent League under naming rights and previously as the NAB League and TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition based in Melbourne and run by the Australian Football League (AFL). It is based on geographic regions throughout country Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne with each team representing one of twelve Victorian regions, while a thirteenth team from Tasmania was reintroduced in 2019. The competition is the primary sources of recruitment for the clubs of the AFL with around three quarters of all players selected from its ranks in each AFL draft. It provides an opportunity for talented young regional players to participate in a high standard competition without having to relocate too far from their place of origin. Werribee Football Club
The Werribee Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football club based in the suburb of Werribee. The club was formed in 1964 and currently plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). It is the western-most Melbourne-based VFL club as of 2021. Phil Maylin
Phil Maylin (born 20 April 1956) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton and Footscray in the Australian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. Originally from Adelaide, Maylin played for South Australian National Football League (SANFL) club Woodville until recruited by Carlton prior to the 1980 VFL season. A utility, Maylin finished second in Carlton's 1982 Best and Fairest award and played mainly as a ruck-rover and midfielder. Maylin was a premiership player with Carlton in 1981 and 1982 but later struggled to hold his place in the side and transferred to Footscray for the 1985 VFL season. 1982 VFA Season
The 1982 Victorian Football Association season was the 101st season of the top division of the Australian rules football competition, and the 22nd season of second division competition. It was the first season of a restructured two-division competition, in which automatic promotion and relegation between the divisions was abandoned. The Division 1 premiership was won by the Port Melbourne Football Club, after it defeated Preston in the Grand Final on 19 September by seven points; it was Port Melbourne's 15th Division 1 premiership, the third of three premierships won in a row between 1980 and 1982, and the last of six premierships won in nine seasons from 1974 until 1982. The Dandenong Football Club, nicknamed the Redlegs, was an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Dandenong, Victoria, Dandenong. Oakleigh Football Club
The Oakleigh Football Club, nicknamed the Devils, was an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Oakleigh that competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) from 1929 until 1994. Oakleigh wore purple guernseys with a gold monogram, thus giving them their original nickname, the Purple and Golds. 1961 VFA Season
The 1961 VFA season was the 80th season of the Victorian Football Association (VFA), an Australian rules football competition played in the state of Victoria. The season saw a significant change in the structure of the Association, with the competition split into two divisions with promotion and relegation between them, a system which remained in place until 1988. The Division 1 premiership was won by the Yarraville Football Club, after it defeated Williamstown in the Grand Final on 30 September by 63 points; it was Yarraville's second and final VFA premiership, and its first since 1935.
