Shari Watson (born October 10, 1971, St. Louis, Missouri), known as Truth Hurts, is an American R&B singer, songwriter and actress. Biography In 2000, Watson signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment label. She first appeared on Busta Rhymes' 2001 hit single, "Break Ya Neck", as a backing vocalist. In 2001, she played a small role in ''The Wash'' starring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, as well as a cameo in the film '' Ali'' starring Will Smith. She also appeared as a background vocalist on the D12 song, "Nasty Mind". House Shoes
Michael Buchanan, better known as House Shoes, is an American Detroit-born hip hop producer and DJ, who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He served as a producer on albums by Phat Kat, Proof, Elzhi, Pumpkinhead, Marv Won, J Dilla, Danny Brown, and Quelle Chris among others. He is a three-time Detroit Music Awards winner for Outstanding Hip-Hop DJ (from 2005 to 2007). Career Buchanan grew up in Lathrup Village. He went to Southfield-Lathrup High School and Eastern Michigan University. He was a resident deejay at the hip hop staple St. Andrews Hall from 1994–2004. Byron Dwayne “Guilty” Simpson is an American rapper and songwriter from Detroit, Michigan whose recording career spans more than 20 years. He is signed to Stones Throw Records, and is known for being one of the late producer J Dilla’s favorite rappers. Simpson’s debut album, ''Ode to the Ghetto'', includes production from J Dilla, as well as from Madlib and Black Milk; all three have been frequent collaborators of his. Jason Powers (born May 12, 1978), better known by his stage name Elzhi (stylized as eLZhi), is an American rapper from Detroit, Michigan. He is a former member of Slum Village and now records as a solo artist. In his youth, he made numerous visits to the Hip-Hop shop in Detroit, taking advantage of open-mic nights hosted by fellow Detroit rapper Proof. Biography ''Out of Focus'' In 1998, Elzhi recorded a number of songs with Detroit hip-hop artist DJ Houseshoes with DJ Rios. These recording sessions yielded material that would become the ''Out of Focus EP'', but the project was abandoned due to personal obligations and a lack of distribution options in Detroit. During the mixing process, DJ Houseshoes passed the DATs onto Dilla, who intended on remixing the whole album before his passing.
