Carosello Records Albums
is an Italian television advertising show that was broadcast on RAI from 1957 to 1977. The series mainly showed short sketch comedy films using live action, various types of animation, and puppetry. It had an audience of about 20 million viewers. History Initially, the only income for Italian television broadcasters came from subscription fees, but the amount was still very low. Rai had already thought of introducing a space dedicated to advertising in the television schedule. RAI was looking for an original, innovative and interesting way to offer it to the public in a pleasant way through entertainment and shows without disturbing them. Then came the idea of making relatively long (average three minutes) funny curtains, comics and sketches, which attracted people's attention. Rai 1 () is an Italian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by state-owned public broadcaster RAI – Radiotelevisione italiana. It is the company's Flagship (broadcasting), flagship television channel and is known for broadcasting mainstream and Generalist channel, generalist programming, usually aimed towards families, including ''TG1'' news bulletins, prime time drama, cinema and entertainment, and major breaking news, sports and special events. Calimero
''Calimero'' is an animated television series about a charming but hapless anthropomorphized chicken; the only black one in a family of yellow chickens. He wears half of his egg shell still on his head. Calimero originally appeared on the Italian television show '' Carosello'' on July 14, 1963, and soon became a popular icon in Italy. The characters were created by the animation studio Organizzazione Pagot and originated as a series of animated advertisements for Miralanza AVA soap products shown throughout Italy. The creators of the main character were Nino Pagot, Toni Pagot and Ignazio Colnaghi. At the end of each episode, it turns out that Calimero is not actually black, but only very dirty, and becomes white after being washed by the advertised soap products. Admag
Admags or ad mags (short for Advertising magazines) were an early alternative to the commercial break in the 1950s and 1960s, broadcast on the new commercial network ITV in the United Kingdom. Beginning as a result of the Television Act 1954, and designed mainly to provide advertising space for smaller companies which couldn't afford slots during regular ad breaks, admags became popular in their own right. Each had a loose story format, much like a soap opera, with each episode featuring a collection of commercially available products. Programming Jim's Inn The most popular admag was ''Jim's Inn'', a soap opera starring Jimmy and Maggie Hanley. By 1957, ''Jim's Inn'' had become so popular that Associated-Rediffusion claimed that it was now rivalling the popularity of long-established programmes on the BBC, such as The Archers. Quartetto Cetra
; ) was an Italian jazz vocal quartet established during the early 1940s and active until 1988. Career The band was based on the Mills Brothers and started performing under the name Quartetto Egie from the initials of the singers' first names: Enrico Gentile, Tata Giacobetti, Giovanni Giacobetti, Iacopo Jacomelli, and Enrico De Angelis. Although they sang American songs such as "Tiger Rag", they wrote songs and Scat singing, scatted in Italian. Quartetto Egie made its debut on 27 May 1940 at the Teatro Valle, Valle Theatre in Rome. ''La Linea'' ("The Line") is an Italian-German animated series created by the Italian cartoonist Osvaldo Cavandoli. The series consists of 90 episodes, which were originally broadcast on the Italian channel RAI between 1971 and 1986. The background tune for the series was created by Franco Godi.
