Carmela Carvajal
Carmela Carvajal Briones (Quillota, July 16, 1851 - Santiago, August 16, 1931) was the wife of the Chilean navy captain Arturo Prat, hero of the Battle of Iquique. Biography Childhood Carmela Carvajal, the youngest of four siblings, was born to Diego Carvajal Zamora and María Briones Insunza, who were of Castilian origin. Orphaned in 1862, she attended a secular school in Valparaíso, where she learned French from the French religious who founded the school. Carmela grew up in the Carvajal family's country house in Charravata, Quillota. Her brother José Jesús, who was married to Concepción Chacón, introduced her to Arturo Prat during social gatherings in Valparaíso, as Concepción was the sister of María del Rosario Chacón, Prat's mother. Miguel Grau Seminario
Miguel María Grau Seminario (27 July 1834 – 8 October 1879) was the most renowned Peruvian naval officer and hero of the naval battle of Angamos during the War of the Pacific (1879–1884). He was known as ''el Caballero de los Mares'' (Spanish for "Gentleman of the Seas") for his kind and chivalrous treatment of defeated enemies and is esteemed by both Peruvians and Chileans. Huáscar (ironclad)
''Huáscar'' is an ironclad turret ship owned by the Chilean Navy built in 1865 for the Peruvian government. It is named after the 16th-century Inca emperor, Huáscar. She was the flagship of the Peruvian Navy and participated in the Battle of Pacocha and the War of the Pacific of 1879–1883. At the Battle of Angamos, Huáscar, captained by renowned Peruvian naval officer Miguel Grau Seminario, was captured by the Chilean fleet and commissioned into the Chilean Navy. Today Huáscar is one of the few surviving ships of her type. She has been restored and is a memorial ship anchored in Talcahuano, Chile. Diarrhea, also spelled diarrhoea, is the condition of having at least three loose, liquid, or watery bowel movements each day. In placental mammals, the umbilical cord (also called the navel string, birth cord or ''funiculus umbilicalis'') is a conduit between the developing embryo or fetus and the placenta.
