Carl Bates
Carl Michael Bates (born 13 March 1983) is a New Zealand politician, representing the New Zealand National Party as a Member of Parliament since the 2023 New Zealand general election. Early life Bates was born and raised in Whanganui, where he attended Mosston School, Rutherford Junior High School, and Whanganui High School. He later gained a bachelor of business studies degree in accountancy from Massey University. He has been a director of an aged care facility, the Arena Manawatu stadium company, and the Universal College of Learning in Palmerston North. Bates set up a company to train boards of directors, named Sirdar Global Group, and operated it in New Zealand and Africa, and self-published two books on business success. He sold the company on his return to New Zealand in 2020. Political career Bates joined the National Party at the age of 13, when he campaigned for Peter Gresham. Whanganui
Whanganui, also spelt Wanganui, is a city in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand. The city is located on the west coast of the North Island at the mouth of the Whanganui River, New Zealand's longest navigable waterway. Whanganui is the 19th most-populous urban area in New Zealand and the second-most-populous in Manawatū-Whanganui, with a population of as of . ''The Whanganui Chronicle'' is New Zealand's oldest newspaper. Based in Whanganui, it celebrated 160 years of publishing in September 2016. It is the main daily paper for the Whanganui, Ruapehu and Rangitīkei regions, including the towns of Patea, Waverley, Whanganui, Bulls, Marton, Raetihi, Ohakune and National Park. History Local resident Henry Stokes first proposed the paper for Petre, as the town was then called, but initial publication was held back by lack of equipment. Tinder is an online dating and geosocial networking application launched in 2012. After building a profile with a Meta login or cell phone number, users can swipe yes (right) or no (left) on potential romantic matches. On Tinder, users " swipe right" to like or "swipe left" to dislike other users' profiles, which include their photos, a short bio, and some of their interests. Tinder uses a "double opt-in" system, also called "matching", where two users must like each other before they can exchange messages. The Water Services Reform Programme (formerly known as Three Waters) was a public infrastructure restructuring programme launched by the Sixth Labour Government to centralise the management of water supply and sanitation in New Zealand.
