Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation
The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (), or CPBC, is the body responsible for organizing the Caribbean Series, an annual club baseball tournament contested by the winter league baseball champions of the Caribbean and Latin American region. Four professional winter leagues are full members of the CPBC, and various others have been invited to participate in the tournament. It also administers the Caribbean Baseball Hall of Fame. The CPBC is an independent organization, not affiliated with the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), which is otherwise recognized as the authority for international baseball tournaments. Dominican Professional Baseball League
The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League ( or LIDOM) is a professional baseball winter league consisting of six teams spread across the Dominican Republic; it is the highest level of professional baseball played in the Dominican Republic. The league's players include many prospects that go on to play Major League Baseball in the United States while also signing many current MLB veterans. The champion of LIDOM advances to play in the yearly Caribbean Series. Each team plays a fifty-game round-robin schedule that begins in mid October and runs to the end of December. The top four teams engage in another round-robin schedule with 18 games per team from the end of December to the end of January; the top two teams in those standings then play a best-of-nine series for the national title. 2025 Caribbean Series
The 2025 Caribbean Series was the 67th edition of the Caribbean Series club baseball tournament, scheduled from January 31 to February 7, 2025, at Estadio Nido de los Águilas in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. The series featured the winners of the respective winter league baseball leagues of the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CPBC): the four full members (Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela), plus special guest and first-time participant Japan. The Leones del Escogido of the Dominican Republic defeated the Charros de Jalisco of Mexico with a 1–0 victory in the Final to claim their fifth title and first since 2012. 2023 World Baseball Classic
The 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) was an international professional baseball tournament and the fifth iteration of the World Baseball Classic. It began on March 8, 2023, and ran until March 21. It was originally scheduled to take place in 2021, four years after the 2017 World Baseball Classic, previous event, but was canceled in May 2020, as a result of the Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on sports, COVID-19 pandemic. LoanDepot Park (officially stylized as loanDepot park, and named Marlins Park until 2021) is a retractable roof stadium located in Miami, Florida, United States. 2023 Baseball Champions League Americas
The 2023 Baseball Champions League Americas was the first edition of the Baseball Champions League Americas, an international competition for baseball clubs organized by the WBSC Americas, part of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). The first edition was held in the Parque Kukulcán Alamo, in Mérida, Yucatán, Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, from 28 September to 1 October 2023. The competition was sanctioned by WBSC and the Mexican League and featured four teams from Colombia, Cuba, Mexico and the United States. A single round-robin format was used, with each team facing each other once. The top two teams advanced to the final game.
