Carcar–Barili Road is a road connecting the city and municipality of Carcar and Barili in Cebu, Philippines. The road forms a part of National Route 830 and is the only road assigned to National Route 83. From the west, the road starts at the intersection with Felix Paras Street in the Carcar town proper as the continuation of Santander–Barili–Toledo Road. It then proceeds to the east cutting through the mountainous terrain of Cebu. Its route transitions from N83 (a primary national road) to N830 (a secondary national road) at its intersection with N81 in Barangay Mantalongon. Barili, officially the Municipality of Barili ( ceb, Lungsod sa Barili; tgl, Bayan ng Barili), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 80,715 people. History The word ''barili'' comes from the name of a local grass called ''balili''. The municipality was founded in 1632, though the parish of Barili was established in 1614. A cross was erected by conquistadores on their arrival at 1602, and still exists today. It was in Barili that the Japanese forces captured Chief Justice José Abad Santos while on his way to Toledo as his escape route to Negros. National Route 830 (N830) is a secondary route that forms part of the Philippine highway network from Samboan to Barili in Cebu, Philippines. There are four components of the route, namely Natalio Bacalso Avenue (in Samboan), Santander–Barili–Toledo Road, Carcar–Barili Road and Carcar–Barili–Mantalongon Road. Route description The route starts as Natalio Bacalso Avenue (Cebu South Road) from a route change from National Route 8 (N8) at the Santander– Samboan boundary. National Route 81 (N81) is a , east-west primary route which forms part of the Philippine highway network in Cebu connecting the cities and municipalities of Naga, Toledo, Pinamungahan, Aloguinsan and Barili. Two roads form the route, namely the Naga−Toledo Road (from Naga to Toledo) and the Uling−Toledo Wharf Road (from Toledo to Uling). History When the highway routes were assigned in 2014, the segment of Cebu−Toledo Wharf Road from Barangay Lutopan to Poblacion except Toledo Port and Naga−Uling Road were assigned as N81.
