Carbovaris
Carbovaris were a short-lived Hungarian indie rock band based in Budapest, Hungary, formed in 2009. The band consisted of members Ármin Jamak (vocals), Dániel Nyitray (bass), Soma Balázs (guitars), Zsombor Lehoczky (drums). History In 2012 the band's first LP was released entitled Milos. In 2013, the band was nominated as the best new act in Hungary by the Viva TV. On 6 December 2013, Carbovaris released two singles, ''Sand & Dust'' and ''Automatic/Pragmatic'', from their forthcoming album. On 12 December 2013, Carbovaris played at the A38 in Budapest, Hungary. The show was available on stream. Carbovaris played their last show at the Gozsdu Manó Klub in Budapest on 31 January 2014. Ármin Jamak
Ármin Jamak (born 19 February 1993) is a Hungarian indie musician, best known as the lead singer of the Hungarian indie band Carbovaris. Early life and personal life Jamak was born in Budapest, Hungary. He attended ELTE Apáczai János Csere secondary school in Budapest. Carbovaris Jamak is the founding member of Carbovaris. Jamak was interviewed by Recorder on 10 July 2013. He said that he usually spends his freetime at the Balaton Lake and once he saw a concert of Anna and the Barbies. Jamak was also asked to join the band and sing a song with them. In an interview with Radiopro, Jamak said that they shot the video clip for their song Sand and Dust on the Szentendre Island. In the video clip the band members are holding mirrors in which different landscapes can be seen. Budapest indie music scene was the indie music scene of Budapest, Hungary in the 2000s. It was often associated with bands like Amber Smith, The Moog, EZ Basic and We Are Rockstars. History Beginnings The early 2000s was the revival of the indie music scene all over the world, which affected Hungary as well. One of the earliest Hungarian band playing indie rock were The Puzzle from Kaposvár. They were the first band whose record, entitled ''Dream Your Life'', was released by an international label, PolyGram in 2000. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". Gozsdu Manó
Emanuil Gojdu (Hungarian: ''Gozsdu Emánuel'', mostly referred as ''Gozsdu Manó''; 9 February 1802, Nagyvárad, Hungary (now Oradea, Romania)—3 February 1870, Pest-Buda, Hungary) was a Romanian lawyer in the Kingdom of Hungary and patriot. Emanuil Gojdu was born to an Aromanian family that originated in Moscopole. He attended high school in his native town. After completing the high school studies, he studied law at the Academy of Law in Oradea (Nagyvárad, 1820-1821), then in Pressburg (1821-1822) and Budapest (1822-1824), becoming both a lawyer and a politician in 1824. He was a supporter of the rights of the Romanians in the Kingdom of Hungary and Transylvania. In his will, dating from 1869, he left his wealth to "''the Romanian Orthodox people of Hungary and Transylvania''" and it was administered by a foundation which bore his name and functioned between 1870 and 1917, one which awarded thousands of scholarships to Transylvanian Romanians. Amber Smith (band)
Amber Smith are a Hungarian pop trio based in Budapest, Hungary formed in 2000 by Imre Poniklo. The band's current line-up is Imre Poniklo (vocals, guitars), Oleg Zubkov a.k.a. Tooff (bass) and Bence Bátor (drums). Amber Smith were one of the most prominent groups of the Budapest indie music scene in the 2000s. History Amber Smith were formed by singer-songwriter Imre Poniklo in 2000 as a side-project in Budapest, Hungary. Imre Poniklo was the guitarist of the Hungarian alternative band Fanzine. At that time the singer of the Fanzine was José Simon, a professional graphic designer, who is currently the stylist of Amber Smith.
