The Capital Premier League is an amateur status league competition run by Capital Football for Association football clubs located in the southern part of the North Island, New Zealand. It is at the third level of New Zealand Football behind the national club based New Zealand National League and leads to promotion into the Central League, which is the second highest level of club based football available to teams within the region. League history The Capital Premier, originally called the Wellington League, was the highest league in the Wellington Region, started in 1891. In 1896, the Venus Shield, named after the "New Venus" tobacco was donated by Cameron & Bros., America, the manufacturers. Upper Hutt City FC
Upper Hutt City Football is an association football club in Upper Hutt, Wellington which plays its home games at Maidstone Park. Upper Hutt City Football started as Upper Hutt United in 1926 and then alternative clubs were formed in the region through Tararua United in the 1970s and a women's club, Upper Valley Wanderers in the 1980s. In the late 1990s the three clubs agreed to amalgamate as Tararua Sports Club with their clubrooms and home ground based at Harcourt Park. At a meeting in 1998 it was agreed that the football teams would play as Upper Hutt City Soccer before they were renamed Upper Hutt City Football in 2011. After construction of an artificial surface pitch at Maidstone Park in 2011 it was decided in 2012 to move the clubrooms and home pitch to the park while still retaining Harcourt Park as its alternative home ground. Tawa, New Zealand
Tawa is the northernmost suburb within the Wellington city boundary, located roughly 15 km north of Wellington's CBD between Churton Park and Porirua in the North Island of New Zealand. It takes its name from the broadleaf tree, which was once prolific throughout the area, although its most famous tree is the Bucket Tree, a large macrocarpa with the topiary of an upside-down bucket. Seatoun
Seatoun, an eastern suburb of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, lies on the east coast of the Miramar Peninsula, close to the entrance to Wellington Harbour (Port Nicholson), some seven kilometres southeast of the CBD. The suburb sits on an exposed promontory close to Barrett Reef, a dangerous area of rocky shallows upon which many ships have foundered, most notably the inter-island ferry in 1968. Seatoun AFC is a football club in New Zealand, based in the Wellington suburb of Seatoun. The club was founded in 1909 by Charlie Webb. One of the strongest clubs in the country during the 1950s, it won the national knockout Chatham Cup in 1957 and 1958. David Farrington Park, previously known as Centennial Park, is a football ground in the suburb of Miramar in Wellington, New Zealand. It is used for football matches and is the home ground of both Team Wellington and Miramar Rangers AFC. Miramar, New Zealand
Miramar is a suburb of Wellington, New Zealand, south-east of the city centre. It is on the Miramar Peninsula, directly east of the isthmus of Rongotai, the site of Wellington International Airport. Miramar Rangers AFC is an amateur New Zealand association football club in the Wellington suburb of Miramar. The club is one of the most successful in New Zealand having won the Chatham Cup four times and the National League title twice. Over the last decade the club has played in the Central League and has won the division seven times, most recently in 2020. In 2004 it became one of the founding principal clubs of the Team Wellington franchise in the ASB Premiership. Fraser Park is Lower Hutt's largest recreational sportsground, at 27 hectares it is the biggest sporting ground in the lower North Island.
