Camacuio
Camacuio is a municipality in Namibe Province, Angola. The municipality occupies 7452 square kilometers and has 50,349 inhabitants as of the 2014 census. It is bordered to the north by the municipalities Baía Farta and Chongoroi, to the east by the municipality of Quilengues, to the south by the municipality of Bibala, and to the west by the municipality of Namibe. Namibe Province
Namibe Province is a Provinces of Angola, province of Angola. Under Portuguese Angola, Portuguese rule it was the Moçâmedes District. It has an area of 57,091 km2 and had a 2014 census population of 495,326. The port and city of Namibe, Moçâmedes is the capital of the province with a population of 250,000 in 2014. Iona National Park lies within the province. History From its foundation by the Portuguese in 1840 and until 1985, the area was known as Moçâmedes (also spelled "Mossâmedes"). The current name of the province is derived from the Namib Desert, lying predominantly in Namibia; the northernmost part, however, extended into the province of Namibe. Extensive flooding in the province occurred on April 5, 2001, with the Bero River, Bero and Giraul River severely affecting roads and people in Namibe, Huila Province, Huila and Benguela Province, Benguela provinces. Provinces Of Angola
Angola is divided into twenty-one provinces, known in Portuguese language, Portuguese as ''províncias''. On 14 August 2024, Angola's National Assembly (Angola), National Assembly approved a law to create three new provinces: * Cuando Cubango Province was divided into Cuando Province and Cubango Province; * Icolo e Bengo Province was separated from Luanda Province; and * Moxico Leste Province was separated from Moxico Province. Quilengues, also Kilenjes, is a town and municipality in Huíla Province in Angola. The municipality had a population of 75,334 in 2014. Geography Quilengues sits on the western edge of the Central Highlands, and is bordered to the north by the municipality of Chongoroi, the east by the municipality of Caluquembe, the south by the cities of Lubango and Cacula, and to the west by the municipalities of Bibala and Camucuio. Bibala
Bibala (known as Vila Arriaga until 1975) is a town, with a population of 10,500 (2014), and a municipality in southern Angola. It lies in Namibe Province. The municipality of Bibala covers with a population of 64,504 (2014). It is bordered to the north by the municipality of Camucuio, to the east by Quilengues, Cacula, Lubango and Humpata, to the south by Virei, and to the west by Namibe. It is composed of the communes of Bibala-Sede, Caitou, Lola e Kapagombe. History The village developed under Portuguese colonial administration with the arrival of the Namibe Train on February 1, 1912. The village's original name was Vila Arriaga, after the Portuguese President Manuel José de Arriaga (1841-1917). Residential houses for the workers of the Mozambique Railroad were built here, and from then on the settling families continued to farm and breed cattle. Chingo
Volcán Chingo is a stratovolcano on the border between Guatemala and El Salvador. The highest point on the Guatemala/ El Salvador border is Volcán Chingo at 5,823 feet. It is also known to be the second highest of a group of volcanoes in the SE Guatemala region. The population of people living within 30 km of the Volcán Chingo is estimated to be around 867,678 people. There are no historical eruptions documented for this volcano but it is currently active. The exact volcano number when trying to locate it in the Smithsonian website is 342170.
