Arthur Callender
Arthur Robert Callender (13 December 1875 – 12 December 1936), nicknamed ''Pecky'', was an English engineer and archaeologist, best known for his role as assistant to Howard Carter during the excavation of Tutankhamun's tomb in the 1920s. Life Callender was born in Skirbeck, near Boston, Lincolnshire, England, to engineer Robert Callender and Matilda (). After training as an engineer he moved to Egypt and worked as a manager with the State Railways. In 1911 he was awarded the Ottoman Order of the Medjidieh, fourth class, for his services as Assistant Inspector-General of the Auxiliary Railways of Upper Egypt. He retired from the Railway Service in about 1920. Charles Callender
Charles Callender was the owner of blackface minstrel troupes that featured African American performers. Although a tavern owner by trade, he entered show business in 1872 when he purchased Sam Hague's Slave Troupe of Georgia Minstrels. Renaming them Callender's Original Georgia Minstrels, he and his business manager, Charles Hicks, followed the lead of other showmen such as J.H. Haverly and advertised the troupe far and wide. Callender's Minstrels played to packed houses and positive reviews in the Midwest and Northeast. Clarence H Callender (born 16 November 1961 in East Ham) is a male British former sprinter. Athletics career Callender competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics. He represented England and competed in the 100 metres and won a silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay event, at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland. Drake Steven Callender (born October 7, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami. Early life Callender played youth soccer with Cap FC United and Placer United, before going on to be part of the San Jose Earthquakes academy from 2013 to 2016. Emmanuel Earl Callender (sometimes Callander; born 10 May 1984 in Arouca, Trinidad and Tobago) is a track and field sprint athlete, who competes internationally for Trinidad and Tobago. Callender represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He competed at the 4 × 100 m relay, together with Marc Burns, Aaron Armstrong, Keston Bledman and Richard Thompson. Eugene S. Callender (January 21, 1926 – November 2, 2013) was an American pastor and activist in the civil rights movement. Biography Eugene St. Clair Callender was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to parents who were immigrants from Barbados. He studied at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and Boston University, before becoming the first African American to study at Westminster Theological Seminary. He later studied at New York Law School. For most of his life, Callender lived and worked in Harlem. John Callender (MB Chb, MD, MRCPsych, FRCPsych) is a Scottish psychiatrist and philosopher born in 1954. Callender graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1977. He is a consultant psychiatrist at the Royal Cornhill Hospital in Aberdeen, the associate director of Grampian Medical Health Services and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen.
