Cadena Melodía is a Colombian radio network, founded in 1971 by Liberal politician Efraín Páez Espitia, who owned Radio Melodía of Bogotá since 1959. Radio Líder was the flagship station of the AM network of Cadena Melodía, a Colombian radio network. It started in 1947 as Radio Industrial. It would later be renamed to Radio Capital, until 1959 when Liberal party politician Efraín Páez Espitia bought the station and changed its name to Radio Melodía. Easy listening (including mood music) is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to 1970s. It is related to middle-of-the-road (MOR) music and encompasses instrumental recordings of standards, hit songs, non- rock vocals and instrumental covers of selected popular rock songs. It mostly concentrates on music that pre-dates the rock and roll era, characteristically on music from the 1940s and 1950s. Blu Radio is a radio station in Bogotá, Colombia, owned by Caracol TV. In July 2012, Caracol TV leased HJMD (the frequency of Melodía FM Estéreo, an easy listening station) from Cadena Melodía, in order to create a news radio station. Test broadcasts started soon after, with a soft AC format and simulcasting '' Noticias Caracol''. Blu Radio started definitive broadcasts 6 September 2012. Bolero
Bolero is a genre of song which originated in eastern Cuba in the late 19th century as part of the trova tradition. Unrelated to the older Spanish dance of the same name, bolero is characterized by sophisticated lyrics dealing with love. It has been called the "quintessential Latin American romantic song of the twentieth century". Unlike the simpler, thematically diverse '' canción'', bolero did not stem directly from the European lyrical tradition, which included Italian opera and canzone, popular in urban centers like Havana at the time. Instead, it was born as a form of romantic folk poetry cultivated by a new breed of troubadour from Santiago de Cuba, the ''trovadores''.
