Cabinet Of Jamshid Amouzegar
The cabinet led by Jamshid Amouzegar was announced on 7 August 1977. It succeeded the Government of Amir-Abbas Hoveyda (1974–1977), last cabinet of Amir-Abbas Hoveyda who submitted his resignation on 6 August. Major goal of Amouzegar's cabinet was to implement a new liberal economic program to stop inflation. The cabinet significantly decreased the annual financial aid given to mosques and religious organizations which had very negative effects on the relations between the state and religious establishment. The cabinet lasted only for one year until 27 August 1978 when Jamshid Amouzegar resigned from office. The reason for his resignation was the increased demonstrations of religious establishment and the fire occurred in Cinema Rex fire, Cinema Rex in Abadan on 19 August. Reza Azimi
Reza Azimi () was a senior military officer during the reign of the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. He was a general and held various military and government posts, including commander of the Imperial Iranian Ground Forces and minister of war. Biography Azimi served as the commander of the Imperial Iranian Ground Forces between 1960 and 1966. He left the office due to illness. Then he was made general adjutant to the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi which he held until 1970. Later Azimi served as the minister of war between 1971 and 1977 in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Amir Abbas Hoveyda. He was appointed to the post on 13 September 1971. Gholamreza Kianpour (; 1929 – 8 May 1979) was an Iranian politician and minister of justice in the government of Amir-Abbas Hoveyda and Jamshid Amouzegar between 9 November 1976 and 17 August 1978. Biography Gholamreza Kianpour, son of Abdolvahab, was born in 1929 in Tehran. He completed his education at Daraei High School before earning a bachelor's degree in law from Tehran University Law School and later obtaining a doctorate degree in economics.
