CMS Yorkshire League
The Yorkshire Men's League is a summer rugby league competition for amateur teams in Yorkshire. The competition was formed in 2009 as the RLC Yorkshire Premier by splitting the RLC North Premier into two competitions - this and the RLC North West Premier. The league was renamed to its current name following the 2012 restructure of amateur rugby league in Great Britain. History Following the formation of the British Amateur Rugby League Association in 1973 clubs from local leagues in both Yorkshire and Lancashire formed the Pennine League. A solely based Yorkshire competition was not formed until 1978 when the CMS Yorkshire League was established. Following the formation of the National Leagues in 2003, the Conference League South was expanded to include Northern clubs and renamed National League Three, becoming the highest level of amateur rugby league played in the summer. Bradford Dudley Hill
Bradford Dudley Hill RLFC is an amateur rugby league team based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Originally formed after the First World War, the club was re-established in 1948. History Early years Established just after the First World War, Dudley Hill originally played on the old Bierley estate. They were led by rugby league player Stanley Brogden who, after his career as a stand-off with Leeds, Yorkshire and Great Britain, wanted to put something back into the grassroots of rugby league. The club was disbanded prior to the Second World War, and was reformed in 1948, due to Les Brady, who was running the successful Bierley under 18 team at the time, Vincent Heslop and Danny Cullerton. Brighouse Rangers
Brighouse Rangers was a rugby league club in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, England. The club was involved in the meeting at the George Hotel, Huddersfield in 1895, and after the schism became founder members of the Northern Rugby Football Union (now Rugby Football League), playing for eleven seasons from 1895–96 to 1905–06. After a break, a new club, also called Brighouse Rangers, appeared in 1915 and played in the Emergency War Leagues in 1915–16, 1916–17, 1917–18 and 1918–19. Heworth ARLFC
Heworth A.R.L.F.C. is an amateur rugby league football club based in Heworth, York. The first team plays in the NCL Division One. In 1986, the club was one of ten founder members of the BARLA National Amateur League (now known as the National Conference League), and were the winners of the inaugural 1986–87 season. Heworth has produced many players who went on to play the game professionally, most notably former internationals Ray Batten, Kenneth Bowman, Gary Divorty, Bill and Jim Drake, Colin Forsyth, David Watkinson and Geoff Wriglesworth. The club went into decline following their success in the early years of the league, and in 2012 were demoted to NCL Division Three after failing to fulfill one of their fixtures. Hunslet Club Parkside was an English amateur rugby league club based in Hunslet, West Yorkshire. Its first team competed in the National Conference League. History The club was founded in the 1940s as Hunslet Boys Club, playing junior rugby until 1999 when the club formed an open age team named Hunslet Old Boys. In 2012, Hunslet Parkside approached Hunslet Old Boys about a possible merger, which went ahead several months later. Hunslet Parkside was a junior club formed in 1973 following the demise of the town's professional club, and was based in the Belle Isle area in the south of Leeds. Leeds Akkies are a rugby league team based in The Old Modernians Sports Club, Cookridge Lane, Leeds, LS16 7ND, West Yorkshire. They play in the Yorkshire Men's League.
