Leeds Akkies
Leeds Akkies are a rugby league team based in The Old Modernians Sports Club, Cookridge Lane, Leeds, LS16 7ND, West Yorkshire. They play in the Yorkshire Men's League. History ''Leeds Akademiks'' were founded in 2003 by students from the three Universities of Leeds to provide a pathway from student rugby league to open age amateur rugby league. They were admitted into the North East Division of the Rugby League Conference in 2003, playing out of West Park Bramhope RUFC. This was to pave the way for a huge influx of truly heartland teams the following season, drastically changing the face of the Conference. Leeds won the North East Division in 2003 and the newly formed Yorkshire Division in 2004. Leeds Akademiks had to change their moniker to ''Akkies'' due to a legal challenge from an American clothing brand named Akademik in 2005. Rugby League Conference
The Rugby League Conference, also known as the Co-operative Rugby League Conference as a result of sponsorship from The Co-operative Group), was a series of regionally based divisions of amateur rugby league teams spread throughout England, Scotland, and Wales. The RLC was founded as the 10-team Southern Conference League in 1997, with teams from the southern midlands and the south east, but subsequently, rebranded and expanded both geographically and numerically to include around 90 teams stretched across almost the whole of Great Britain from Aberdeen in northern Scotland down to Plymouth on the south coast of England. The aim of the RLC was initially to provide regular fixtures for new clubs based outside the traditional 'heartland' of rugby league in the UK, although as the playing standards increased, it also accepted teams from the 'heartlands'. Bramhope
Bramhope is a village and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough, West Yorkshire, England, north of Holt Park and north east of Cookridge. The village is north of Leeds city centre and it is in the LS16 LS postcode area, Leeds postcode area. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 3,400. Leeds
Leeds is a city in West Yorkshire, England. It is the largest settlement in Yorkshire and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds Metropolitan Borough, which is the second most populous district in the United Kingdom. Bridgend Blue Bulls
The Blue Bulls (known as Bridgend Blue Bulls RLFC between 2003 and 2012) are a rugby league side based in Pyle, Wales. They play in the Welsh Premier of the Rugby League Conference. They are the most successful amateur rugby league team in Wales, having won the Welsh Premier a record ten times in their two incarnations, as well as winning the Harry Jepson Trophy twice against teams from England, Wales and Scotland. The Rugby League Conference National Division (formerly known as the National League Three) was the fourth division of the British rugby league system. The Women's Rugby League Conference was a competition for women's rugby league teams in Britain that ran from 2008 to 2011. The men's equivalent is the Rugby League Conference.
