CILK-FM is a Canadian radio station located in Kelowna, British Columbia. Broadcasting at 101.5 FM broadcasting, FM, the station airs an adult contemporary radio format, format branded as ''Move Radio, Move 101.5''. The station is owned by Bell Media. History The station traces its origins to December 21, 1984 when the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission awarded a new FM license for the Kelowna market to Silk FM Broadcasting, a company two-thirds controlled by veteran radio broadcaster Nick Frost. CILK signed on for the first time at 101.5 MHz with a soft adult contemporary format at 10 a.m. on June 21, 1985, with an average effective radiated power of 11,000 watts. Celista, British Columbia
Celista is a small community located along the north shore of Shuswap Lake in British Columbia, Canada. The local school is North Shuswap Elementary school, which has grades one to eight and has an annual enrollment of just over 100 students. EZ Rock
EZ Rock was a brand of adult contemporary radio stations heard primarily in Canada. The branding was originally created by Telemedia in the mid-1990s for its AC stations, and based on the call sign of its former Toronto flagship CJEZ-FM (now adult hits-formatted CHBM-FM). Via acquisitions, control of the "EZ Rock" brand passed from Telemedia to Astral Media and later Bell Media. Astral Media
Astral Media Inc. was a Canadian media conglomerate. It was Canada's largest radio broadcaster, with 84 radio stations in eight provinces. Astral was also a major player in premium and specialty television in Canada, with 23 specialty channels and two conventional stations. In addition, Astral had a presence in out-of-home advertising. In March 2012, Bell Media announced its intent to acquire Astral for $3.38 billion. Although an attempt to purchase the entirety of the company was blocked under competition law, the CRTC approved a revised offer on June 27, 2013, which saw various Astral specialty channels and radio stations divested to competitors. Standard Radio
Slaight Communications is a Canadian radio broadcasting company. The company was formed as Slaight Broadcasting in 1971, when owner J. Allan Slaight acquired CFGM in Richmond Hill. Slaight later also acquired CFOX in Montreal and CHOK in Sarnia, and launched CILQ in Toronto. The company later sold off all of its original assets, and continued to operate its radio holdings through the Standard Broadcasting division after Slaight bought out that company in 1985. As Standard, it remained the largest privately owned multimedia company in Canada until it sold its radio and TV broadcasting assets to Astral Media in 2007.
