CF Puebla
Club Puebla is a Mexican professional football club based in Puebla. It competes in Liga MX, the top division of Mexican football. Founded in 1944 as Puebla Fútbol Club, and then changed to its current name in 2016. Nicknamed ''La Franja'' ("The Striped Ones"), the team shirt features a diagonal stripe (traditionally blue on white on the home kit, and a combination of different colors on the away kits) that crosses the chest diagonally from right to left, which is considered a distinctive element of its identity. Since 1904, the city of Puebla had an official football team. It started as club Puebla AC, founded by Englishmen. It was later incorporated into the Mexican football league during the amateur era. Estadio Cuauhtémoc is a Association football, football stadium in Puebla (city), Puebla City, Mexico. It is the home of Club Puebla . It is currently the fourth-biggest football stadium in Mexico by capacity. The stadium has been the host of the 1970 FIFA World Cup and the 1986 FIFA World Cup. From November 2014 – 2015, the stadium went through massive renovations. As of November 2015, Cuauhtémoc Stadium is considered to be an innovation in textile design and sports architecture in Mexico, since it is the first and only stadium in Latin America to have a facade totally covered with ETFE. Campeonato de Primera Fuerza (), later known as Liga Mayor (), was an amateur association football league in Mexico. It was founded and organized by the Federación Mexicana de Football Asociación (), which was the first governing body of Mexican football, after the merger of the ''Liga Mexicana'' and ''Liga Nacional''. Liga MX, also known as Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Mexico and the highest level of the Mexican football league system. Orizaba (, Otomi: ) is a city and municipality in the Mexican state of Veracruz. British Football Club was a Mexican football club based in Mexico City, that played in the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association from 1902 to 1913. Founded in 1901 under the name British Club, in the 1909–10 changed its name to British FC, then in the 1910–11 it merged with Popo Park FC and changed its name to British-Popo. Finally in the 1911–12, it changed its name again to British FC. History The club was founded in 1901 by Percy Clifford, a Cornish immigrant, who at the time was a member of the Club Reforma.
