Boardman Creek
Boardman Creek is a stream in the Sawtooth National Forest in Camas County, Idaho in the United States. Boardman Tasker Prize For Mountain Literature
The Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature is an annual prize of £3,000 awarded by the Boardman Tasker Charitable Trust to an author or authors for "an original work which has made an outstanding contribution to mountain literature". The prize was established in 1983 in memory of British climbers Peter Boardman and Joe Tasker, both of whom wrote books about their mountaineering expeditions, after their deaths on the northeast ridge of Mount Everest in 1982. It can be awarded for a piece of fiction or non-fiction, poetry or drama, although the work must have been written in (or translated into) English. The prize is announced at the annual Kendal Mountain Festival. Boardman's Windmill
Boardman's Drainage Windmill is located at How Hill in the England, English county of Norfolk It is on the east bank of the River Ant close to the large Edwardian architecture, Edwardian building houses the Norfolk Broads Study Centre. The Drainage mill is west of the village of Ludham. The structure is a grade II* listed building. The Boardman
The Boardman is a series of rowhouses at 39-53 Montana Street, occupying an entire city block between Hoosac and Blackinton Streets in North Adams, Massachusetts. The building was, at the time of its construction (1899–1901), one of the most elaborate multiunit buildings in the city, and were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Description and history The Boardman is located southeast of downtown North Adams, on the west side of Montana Street, occupying the full block between Blackinton Street and Hoosac Street. It is a 2-1/2 story rowhouse consisting of nine units, set townhouse style in a single structure. The first floor was built of stone, while the second floor is of wood frame construction originally covered in wooden clapboards. Operation Boardman
Operation Avalanche was the codename for the Allied landings near the port of Salerno, executed on 9 September 1943, part of the Allied invasion of Italy during World War II. The Italians withdrew from the war the day before the invasion, but the Allies landed in an area defended by German troops. Planned under the name ''Top Hat'', it was supported by the deception plan Operation ''Boardman''. The landings were carried out by the U.S. Fifth Army, under Lieutenant General Mark W. Clark. It comprised the U.S. VI Corps, the British X Corps, and the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division, a total of about nine divisions. Its primary objectives were to seize the port of Naples to ensure resupply, and to cut across to the east coast, trapping the Axis troops further south. The Naval Weapons Systems Training Facility Boardman, informally known as the Boardman Bombing Range, is a military installation south of Boardman, Oregon in the United States. It is used by NAS Whidbey Island as their principal training grounds for testing EA-18G Growler aircraft and for drone testing. It is located about south of the Yakima Training Center, which is used by Joint Base Lewis-McChord for training exercises and about west of the now closed Umatilla Chemical Depot. The range was established by the U.S. Army Air Force in 1941 as the Arlington Bombing Range, being originally named after Arlington to the west. The range is used frequently throughout the year. Beyond its primary operator at NAS Whidbey Island, the installation is also used by Oregon National Guard units based in Pendleton and Klamath Falls. Boardman High School is a high school in Boardman Township, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Boardman Local School District. Athletic teams compete as the Boardman Spartans in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the All-American Conference. History The first high school, located on Market Street, is now Boardman Center Intermediate School. In 1969, the new high school was built on Glenwood Avenue.
