Bihar Cricketers
This is a list of all cricketers who have played in first-class, List A or Twenty20 matches for Bihar, mostly in the Ranji Trophy (FC), Vijay Hazare Trophy (LA), and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20) competitions. Seasons given are the first and last in which each player represented Bihar, but they may not have played in all the interim seasons and many played for other senior teams besides Bihar. Players in bold have played international cricket. Bihar made their senior debut in December 1936 when they joined the Ranji Trophy and played Bengal at the Rangers Ground in Calcutta. They took part in the Ranji Trophy every season from 1936/37 until 2003/04, but were then absent until November 2018 when they were reinstated as one of ten expansion teams. Cricket is a Bat-and-ball games, bat-and-ball game played between two Sports team, teams of eleven players on a cricket field, field, at the centre of which is a cricket pitch, pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two Bail (cricket), bails (small sticks) balanced on three stump (cricket), stumps. Babul Kumar (born 12 January 1993) is an Indian cricketer. He made his List A debut for Bihar in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 19 September 2018, scoring 121 not out. He was the leading run-scorer for Bihar in the tournament, with 419 runs in eight matches. Nirode Chowdhury
Nirode Ranjan "Putu" Chowdhury (23 May 1923, Jamshedpur, India – 14 December 1979, Durgapur, West Bengal, Durgapur, India) was an India national cricket team, Indian cricketer. He was one of the earliest known test cricketers from Bengal. A medium pace bowler, Putu Chowdhury had an outstanding start to his career. Playing for Bihar cricket team, Bihar in the Ranji Trophy, he took 11, 9 and 10 wickets in his first three matches. In 1944–45 Ranji Trophy, 1944–45, he took a Hat-trick (cricket), hat-trick against Bengal Governor's XI in Eden Gardens which included the wickets of Vinoo Mankad, Mushtaq Ali and Lala Amarnath. Rana Chowdhary
Rana Chowdhary (born 12 April 1978) is an Indian cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm medium pace bowler who played for Bengal cricket team. Chowdary made his List A debut in the 2000/01 Ranji Trophy competition for Bihar. Chatrapalsinhji
Rajkumar Shri Chatrapalsinhji, later known as R.K. Chatrapalsinh Jadeja (4 November 1936 – 29 April 2009), a member of the Jamnagar royal family, played first-class cricket in India from 1957 to 1971. Education and cricket career Chatrapalsinhji was educated at Rajkumar College, Rajkot, and Delhi University, where he opened the batting for the university team in the Rohinton Baria Trophy from 1955-56 to 1957-58. He made his first-class debut for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy in 1957-58. In his second match he scored 69 in the second innings, taking part in an opening partnership of 114 when Delhi successfully chased 136 for victory. He returned to play for his home team Saurashtra in 1958-59, scoring 246 runs in four matches at an average of 30.75. Bimal Bose
Bimal Krishna Bose (16 June 1918 – 20 May 1996) was an Indian cricketer who played first-class cricket for Bihar from 1940 to 1963, captaining the team from 1953–54 to 1957–58. His elder brother was famous revolutionary Benoy Basu. Early career Bimal Bose made his first-class debut for Bihar in the 1940–41 season as a left-arm medium-paced opening bowler, and was seldom out of the team for the next 23 seasons. He batted low in the order, and made his highest score of 66 against Bengal in his second match. Bihar needed 264 to take the first-innings lead, which in a drawn match, as this one seemed likely to be, effectively counted as a victory. Bose went in at 149 for seven, and was last man out, caught on the boundary going for the six that would have taken Bihar into the lead. Anjan Bhattacharjee
Anjan Bhattacharjee (25 December 1950 – 5 December 2022) was a cricketer who played first-class cricket for Bihar from 1970 to 1972. He was deaf. Bhattacharjee was born in Kushiarkul village of Jalalpur Tea Garden in Cachar district, Assam, India. Bhattacharjee made his first-class debut against Orissa in the Ranji Trophy in December 1970. He took 6 for 26 in the first innings as Orissa were dismissed for 81. P. N. Sundaresan, writing in ''Wisden'', described him as " layingthe game with great zest and never paringhimself whether bowling or fielding". In the first match of the 1971–72 season Bhattacharjee took 3 for 54 and 7 for 10 against Assam, dismissing them for 32 in the second innings, when they batted two men short.
