Twenty20 (abbreviated T20) is a shortened format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the county cricket, inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of twenty over (cricket), overs. Together with First-class cricket, first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being played at the highest level, both internationally and domestically. The Bihar cricket team represents the state of Bihar in Indian domestic cricket competitions. It is run by Bihar Cricket Association. History 1936 to 2004 The team competed in the Ranji Trophy from 1936–37 until 2003–04. When the state of Bihar was divided into two states, Bihar and Jharkhand, most of the former state's cricket infrastructure was in Jharkhand, so Jharkhand commenced playing in the Ranji Trophy. The state of Bihar was no longer represented. Before this partition Bihar played 236 first-class matches, winning 78, losing 56 and drawing 102. 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
The 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was the twelfth edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, an annual Twenty20 tournament in India. Played from 8 November to 1 December 2019, it was contested by all 38 Ranji Trophy teams and won by Karnataka, the defending champions, for their second title. Chandigarh, the last of the expansion teams introduced in 2018–19, made their debut. The tournament retained the same format as the previous edition of the competition and had five groups, with two groups containing seven teams and three groups with eight teams. The top two teams in each group qualified for the Super League section of the tournament, with the teams then split into two further groups of five teams each. Bihar Cricketers
This is a list of all cricketers who have played in first-class, List A or Twenty20 matches for Bihar, mostly in the Ranji Trophy (FC), Vijay Hazare Trophy (LA), and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20) competitions. Seasons given are the first and last in which each player represented Bihar, but they may not have played in all the interim seasons and many played for other senior teams besides Bihar. Players in bold have played international cricket. Bihar made their senior debut in December 1936 when they joined the Ranji Trophy and played Bengal at the Rangers Ground in Calcutta. They took part in the Ranji Trophy every season from 1936/37 until 2003/04, but were then absent until November 2018 when they were reinstated as one of ten expansion teams.
