Rana Chowdhary
Rana Chowdhary (born 12 April 1978) is an Indian cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm medium pace bowler who currently plays for Bengal cricket team, Bengal. He was born in Kulti. Chowdary made his List A debut in the 2000/01 Ranji Trophy competition for Jharkhand cricket team, Bihar. He took one wicket on his debut, though he was unable to make inroads with the bat, scoring just six runs in two innings. Chowdhary spent more than six years out of the game, before joining Bengal in time for the start of the Inter State Twenty20 tournament competition of 2006/07. He appeared in all eight of Bengal's games in the competition, which they exited at the second stage, winning two of their four second-stage group games. Chowdhary made his first-class debut for Bengal at the back end of 2007, playing two Ranji Trophy games, the second of which saw him score a duck in the first innings, and just a single run in the second. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Bengal Cricket Team
The Bengal cricket team represents the Indian state of West Bengal in domestic first-class cricket. It is considered Eastern India's strongest cricket team. The team plays its home matches at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Bengal has won two Ranji Trophy victories and has been runner-up a total of 12 times. Bengal won the Vijay Hazare Trophy, also known as the Ranji One Day Trophy, in 2012. Jharkhand Cricket Team
The Jharkhand Cricket Team is a first-class cricket team based in the Indian state of Jharkhand. When the old state of Bihar was split into Jharkhand state and Bihar state, the Jharkhand team took the place of the Bihar cricket team, as much of the former's state's cricketing infrastructure was in Jharkhand.
