BTS Members
BTS (), also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010. The band consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, who co-write or co-produce much of their material. Originally a hip hop group, they expanded their musical style to incorporate a wide range of genres, while their lyrics have focused on subjects including mental health, the troubles of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the journey towards self-love, individualism, and the consequences of fame and recognition. Their discography and adjacent work has also referenced literature, philosophy and psychology, and includes an alternate universe storyline. BTS debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment with the single album ''2 Cool 4 Skool.'' White House
The White House is the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest (Washington, D.C.), NW in Washington, D.C., it has served as the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800 when the national capital was moved from Philadelphia. Suga
Min Yoon-gi (; born March 9, 1993), known professionally by his stage names Suga (; stylized in all caps) and Agust D, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter and record producer. He debuted as a member of the South Korean boy band BTS in June 2013 under Big Hit Music, Big Hit Entertainment. His first solo mixtape, ''Agust D'', was released in 2016 and re-released in 2018 to digital download and streaming platforms, reaching number three on ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard''s Billboard charts#Albums, World Albums Chart. Wings (BTS Album)
''Wings'' (stylized as WINGS) is the second Korean and fourth overall studio album by South Korean boy band BTS. The album was released on October 10, 2016, by Big Hit Entertainment. It is available in four versions and contains fifteen tracks, with " Blood Sweat & Tears" serving as its lead single. Heavily influenced by Hermann Hesse's coming of age novel, '' Demian'', the concept album thematically deals with temptation and growth. It was later reissued as a repackage album, titled ''You Never Walk Alone'', on February 13, 2017, a continuation of the canon for ''Wings''. Three new songs were added to the track listing, with " Spring Day" and " Not Today" promoted as the lead singles. Both albums received positive reviews from critics. Wake Up (BTS Album)
''Wake Up'' is the first Japanese and second overall studio album by South Korean boy band BTS. It was released in Japan on December 24, 2014, through Pony Canyon. The 13-track album includes Japanese versions of the band's Korean singles "No More Dream", "Boy in Luv", and "Danger"—all of which were released in the months prior as physical Japanese singles—and two new, original Japanese songs: "The Stars" and "Wake Up". The album became BTS' highest-charting and best-selling album in Japan at the time, following its debut at number three on the Oricon Albums Chart, and sales of over 28,000 copies. Dark & Wild
''Dark & Wild'' (stylized ''DARK&WILD'') is the debut studio album of South Korean boy band BTS. It was released by Big Hit Entertainment on August 20, 2014. The album contains fourteen tracks, with "Danger" as its lead single. The third track on the album, "War of Hormone", was later promoted as a secondary single. Background and release On July 30, 2014, Big Hit Entertainment launched a countdown clock on BTS' official website, and on August 5, they uploaded a comeback trailer on YouTube which featured contrasting scenes. One scene from the trailer featured a forest paradise, while another showed black and white abandoned structures accompanied with lyrics from a Rap Monster verse. ''2 Cool 4 Skool'' is the debut single album released by South Korean boy band BTS on June 12, 2013, through Big Hit Entertainment and distributed by Loen. The album was supported by the singles "No More Dream" and "We Are Bulletproof Pt.2". Commercially, it peaked at number five on the Gaon Album Chart in South Korea, and at number ten on ''Billboard''s World Albums Chart in the United States. The album has sold over 430,000 copies as of January 2022. A 3-disc version of the album was released in Japan through Pony Canyon in 2014. Background and release Prior to BTS' debut, Big Hit Entertainment ran a blog for the group where the members shared mixtapes, diary entries, video logs, and various other content with their fans. Coming Of Age
Coming of age is a young person's transition from being a child to being an adult. The specific age at which this transition takes place varies between societies, as does the nature of the change. Hip-hop or hip hop (originally disco rap) is a popular music genre that emerged in the early 1970s from the African-American community of New York City. The style is characterized by its synthesis of a wide range of musical techniques. Hip-hop includes rapping often enough that the terms can be used synonymously. Boy Band
A boy band is a vocal group consisting of young male singers, usually in their Teenage, teenage years or in their twenties at the time of formation. Generally, boy bands perform love songs marketed towards girls and young women. Many boy bands dance as well as sing, usually giving highly choreographed performances. Jeon Jung-kook (; born September 1, 1997), better known as Jung Kook, is a South Korean singer and songwriter. He rose to prominence as a member and vocalist of South Korean boy band BTS. Kim Tae-hyung (; born December 30, 1995), known professionally as V (), is a South Korean singer and songwriter. In 2013, he made his debut as a member of the South Korean boy band BTS, under Big Hit Music, Big Hit Entertainment. V has performed three solo songs under BTS' name—"Stigma" in 2016, "Singularity (song), Singularity" in 2018, and "Inner Child" in 2020—all of which charted on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. Outside of his music projects with BTS, V had his acting debut in the 2016 television series ''Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth'' and contributed the single "It's Definitely You" to its soundtrack.
