Tripoli Sporting Club (), also known as AC Tripoli or simply Tripoli, is a football club based in Tripoli, Lebanon, that competes in the , and is primarily supported by the Sunni Muslim community. Founded as Al Majd Sports Association (), the club was renamed Olympic Beirut Sporting Club () in 2001, winning the domestic double in the 2002–03 season. In 2005 they were re-established as AC Tripoli, and won a Lebanese FA Cup in 2014–15. In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a tie (draw), draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time (if used) has expired. The 2016 AFC Cup qualifying play-off was played on 9 February 2016. A total of eight teams competed in the qualifying play-off to decide four of the 32 places in the group stage of the 2016 AFC Cup. Teams The following eight teams (all from West Zone) entered the qualifying play-off, which consisted of one round only (play-off round): No qualifying play-off was held in the East Zone due to lack of teams (all teams directly entered the group stage).
