Balta Albă is a commune in Buzău County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Amara, Balta Albă, Băile, and Stăvărăști. Situated in the Bărăgan Plain, at an altitude of , the commune lies on the banks of the river Bold, which flows towards nearby Lake Balta Albă. Băile Felix
Băile Felix () is a thermal spa resort near the commune of Sânmartin, Bihor, Sânmartin in Bihor County, Transylvania, Romania. Băile Felix is at a close distance to Oradea, a major city in western Romania. History Thermal springs were valued in the eighteenth century by the monk Félix Helcher of the Monastery of Klosterbruck (de) in Moravia, administrator of the Sânmartin, Bihor, Váradszentmárton (today: Sânmartin, Romania) monastery. Between 1711-1721 the first treatment facilities were organized under the name of Félixfürdő (in Romanian: Baia lui Felix). Félix Helcher died in 1737. In 1885 a new spring, with a temperature of 49 °C, was found. The thermal springs were discovered around 1000, or around 1200, or according to other experts, only in 1700. The only fact agreed by all experts is the appearance of the first buildings in this resort: between the years 1711–1721. Băile Herculane (; ; ; , ) is a spa town in Romanian Banat, in Caraș-Severin County, situated in the valley of the Cerna River, between the Mehedinți Mountains to the east and the Cerna Mountains to the west, elevation . Its current population is 3,787. The town administers one village, Pecinișca (; from 1912 to 1918 ''Csernabesenyő''). History The spa town of Băile Herculane has a long history of human habitation. Numerous archaeological discoveries show that the area has been inhabited since the Paleolithic era. The ''Peștera Hoților'' (Cave of the Thieves), contains multiple levels, including one from the Mousterian period, one from the Mesolithic period (late Epigravettian) and several from the later Neolithic periods. The Romans established the town of ''Ad Aquas Herculis'' based on the legend that the weary Hercules stopped in the valley to bathe and rest. Băile Govora (or just Govora) is a Romanian spa town in Vâlcea County, about south-west of Râmnicu Vâlcea and west of the Olt River, in the historical region of Oltenia. Notable features of the town (beside its mineral springs, recommended for a variety of ailments) include the Govora Abbey (built in the 15th century and consolidated by Matei Basarab and later by Constantin Brâncoveanu) and the nearby ''Dintr-un lemn'' Monastery (16th or 17th century; the legend of its origin was recorded by Paul of Aleppo).
