Buøy Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Buøy, Stavanger, Rogaland. It has sections for association football and gymnastics. The men's football team plays in the Fourth Division, the fifth tier of Norwegian football. It formerly had a long stint in the Third Division from 2002 to 2010. It even contested a Playoff to the 2. Stavanger (, , US usually , ) is a city and municipality in Norway. It is the fourth largest city and third largest metropolitan area in Norway (through conurbation with neighboring Sandnes) and the administrative center of Rogaland county. Buøy
Buøy is an island in the municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Hundvåg in the city of Stavanger. The island was formerly separated from the island of Hundvåg by a small channel of water, but that was filled in. Buøy is connected to the mainland city of Stavanger by a series of bridges over three other islands and the Byfjorden. Buøy is also the name of an official neighborhood (''delområde'') of the city. The neighborhood has a population of 1,792 which is distributed over an area of including the islands of Buøy, Engøy, Sølyst, and Grasholmen. Sandnes FK
Sandnes Fotballklubb was a Norwegian association football club from Sandnes. It existed from late 1997 to early 2004, and was in the end incorporated by Ulf-Sandnes to form Sandnes Ulf. A cooperation between several Sandnes-based clubs, it played some time in the Norwegian Second Division, and had won promotion to the Second Division when it ceased to exist, but struggled with bad economy. History Sandnes FK was founded in January 1997 as an umbrella club for eleven teams in the Sandnes district. FK Haugesund was an inspiration. It played in the 2001 Norwegian Second Division, but was relegated to the Third Division after that season. As a result, the other clubs stopped backing Sandnes FK.
