Bush Bucks
Bush Bucks is a South African soccer club. The club was founded in 1957 and originally based in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape. In 2001, the team moved to East London. It was nicknamed ''Imbabala (The Bucks)''. History The club was formed by a former official of the Bush Bucks club from Durban who had moved to the area. It was named Umtata Bush Bucks. They moved to East London (outside of the former homeland of Transkei) in 2001, until suffering relegation at the end of the 2002/03 season. They returned after only one season, but were relegated again at the end of 2005/06 season. In 2007 Sturu Pasiya became the sole owner when he purchased a license to participate in the SAFA Second Division from Lion City FC. In 2019, Pasiya was sentenced to five years imprisonment for tax offences. The club relocated to Mthatha prior to the start of the 2022–23 season. 2018–19 SAFA Second Division
The 2018–19 SAFA Second Division (known as the ABC Motsepe League for sponsorship reasons) was the 21st season of the SAFA Second Division, the third tier for South African association football clubs, since its establishment in 1998. Due to the size of South Africa, the competition was split into nine divisions, one for each region. After the league stage of the regional competition was completed, the nine winning teams of each regional division entered the playoffs. 2003–04 National First Division
The 2003–04 National First Division was the 8th season of the National First Division, the second tier of South African Association football, soccer. It consisted of two streams, an Inland stream of 16 teams, and a Coastal stream of 14 teams. Fourteen teams were relegated as a result of the 2004–05 National First Division combining the two streams into a single national league. The Coastal stream was won by Bush Bucks F.C., Bush Bucks and the Inland stream by Bloemfontein Celtic F.C., Bloemfontein Celtic, with both earning promotion to the 2004–05 Premier Soccer League. The South African Championship, officially known as the Motsepe Foundation Championship for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest league of South African football after the South African Premiership. Both the South African Championship and South African Premiership are organised by the Premier Soccer League. Mamelodi Sundowns became the first team in Premiership history to defend their title as they won their second straight Premiership title and their fifth South African title after previously winning the Premiership's predecessor - the National Soccer League - on three occasions (1988, 1990 and 1993). In a hotly contested title race between Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs it came down to goal difference to separate the two as both finished on a joint record 75 points.
