Buranda is a neighbourhood in the southern Brisbane suburbs of Greenslopes and Woolloongabba in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. The location is an important transport hub for southern Brisbane. Logan Road and Ipswich Road pass through the area as does the South East Busway with a station called Buranda busway station. Cleveland Railway Line
The Cleveland railway line is a suburban railway line extending east-southeast from Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail Citytrain network. History Following the opening of the Wooloongabba Branch railway line from Corinda to Stanley Street in South Brisbane in 1884, calls were made for extending the line to Cleveland to serve the developing farming area. A line was surveyed, and took an indirect route to avoid hilly country and to serve Fort Lytton, a gun emplacement at the south entrance to the Brisbane River, then the major defence installation for the city. The line was opened to Manly in 1888 and extended to the first Cleveland station in 1889. Translink (Queensland)
Translink is the public transport agency in the State of Queensland, Australia, and a division of the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Translink was first introduced by the Queensland Government in June 2003 to orchestrate train, bus, ferry and tram services. Translink works with Airtrain Citylink, Brisbane Airtrain, Transport for Brisbane, RiverCity Ferries, Queensland Rail and Translink (Queensland)#South East Queensland network, other operators to provide services. Langlands Park busway station is located in Brisbane, Australia serving the suburbs of Stones Corner, Queensland, Stones Corner and Coorparoo, Queensland, Coorparoo. It opened on 29 August 2011, as part of the Eastern Busway, Brisbane, Eastern Busway from Buranda busway station, Buranda to Main Avenue, Coorparoo. Eight Mile Plains Busway Station
Eight Mile Plains busway station is the southernmost station on the South East Busway in Brisbane, Australia serving the suburb of Eight Mile Plains. It opened on 30 April 2001 when the busway was extended from Woolloongabba. It is currently the last station on the South East Busway, and is connected to the Springwood bus station by the Pacific Motorway. It is enclosed by a number of major roads including Logan Road, Miles Platting Road, the Pacific Motorway and the Gateway Motorway. It features a free park & ride facility. As part of the upgrade of the Pacific Motorway between Eight Mile Plains and Daisy Hill commenced in 2020, the South East Busway will be extended to Springwood bus station. The Pacific Highway upgrade and the Busway extension is expected to be completed in 2024. Eight Mile Plains will then no longer be the last station on the Busway. Woolloongabba Busway Station
Woolloongabba busway station is located in Brisbane, Australia serving the suburb of Woolloongabba. It opened on 13 September 2000 when the first section of the South East Busway opened from Melbourne Street, South Brisbane to coincide with the start of the 2000 Olympic football tournament, for which some matches were held in Brisbane. It initially opened for outbound services only, with inbound services commencing on 23 October 2000. It is on a spur from the main trunk route, with inbound services joining the busway proper at Mater Hill. It is adjacent to the Gabba. As part of the abandoned BaT Tunnel project, it was proposed to build a railway station adjacent to the busway station. This has been revived as Cross River Rail, with Woolloongabba railway station due to open in 2024. Capalaba Bus Station
The Capalaba Bus Station, at Capalaba, Queensland, is serviced by Translink bus routes. It is part of the Capalaba Shopping Precinct and is the primary interchange for Translink's Eastern Region. It is in Zone 2 of the Translink integrated public transport system. The Interchange is laid out in square island with platforms (A–D) on each side surrounding landscaping work, community art pieces, shelters and an amenities block. Each platform can accommodate two buses and on the opposite side of Platforms A and B is parking for up to six buses. South East Busway
The South East Busway is a grade separated bus-only road running south from the Brisbane central business district to Springwood in Queensland, Australia. The busway was completed to Woolloongabba in September 2000, to Eight Mile Plains in April 2001 and Springwood in 2025. An extension of the busway to School Road at Rochedale was completed in 2014 with no additional busway stations at the time, though had later been extended to Springwood in 2025 with the addition of the Rochedale station. The maximum capacity of the busway is 18,000 commuters an hour during peak periods and is estimated to carry 70 million passengers annually. The busway allows services to branch off along any part to service nearby suburbs. This has been described as the Quickway model of bus rapid transit.
