Langlands Park busway station is located in Brisbane, Australia serving the suburbs of Stones Corner, Queensland, Stones Corner and Coorparoo, Queensland, Coorparoo. It opened on 29 August 2011, as part of the Eastern Busway, Brisbane, Eastern Busway from Buranda busway station, Buranda to Main Avenue, Coorparoo. It is served by three routes all operated by Transport for Brisbane. Buses enter the station from bus lanes on Old Cleveland Road and from Main Avenue. It is currently the easternmost station on the Eastern Busway. It is proposed to extend the busway along Old Cleveland Road to Capalaba. Old Cleveland Road
Old Cleveland Road is a major road in Brisbane, Queensland. It runs from Stones Corner, Queensland, Stones Corner to Capalaba, Queensland, Capalaba in Brisbane, with most of the route signed as State Route 22. Sections of the road are also part of State Routes 30, 54, and 55. The road is the main route from inner Brisbane to Capalaba and Cleveland, Queensland, Cleveland since New Cleveland Road only links Tingalpa, Queensland, Tingalpa with Capalaba. The road provides the quickest access to the suburbs of Capalaba and Carindale, Queensland, Carindale from Logan Road and the Gateway Motorway, as well as being a main access road for Westfield Carindale Shopping Centre and Capalaba Central Shopping Centre. When completed the Eastern Busway, Brisbane, Eastern Busway will run parallel to, and (in some parts) in the middle of, the road so bus patrons can avoid severe peak hour traffic congestion road-wide. Stones Corner is an inner southern Suburbs and localities (Australia), suburb of City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Stones Corner had a population of 2,336 people. Geography Stones Corner is centred on the junction of Logan Road and Old Cleveland Road. One of Brisbane’s oldest open concrete drain was transformed into a 5.2 hectare urban parkland called Hanlon Park in 2022. History The area was originally known as Burnett's Swamp, being low-lying land around the flood-prone Norman Creek (Queensland), Norman Creek. The triangle of land (the "corner") at the south-east of the junction of Logan Road and Old Cleveland Road was purchased by James Stone in 1875. He tried to get a licence to operate a hotel at the location but was unsuccessful so he brewed and sold ginger beer instead. Eastern Busway, Brisbane
The Eastern Busway is a bus-only road running from the University of Queensland's St Lucia campus to Langlands Park busway station in Queensland, Australia. Development The Eastern Busway was built and opened in stages. The first section between the University of Queensland and the South East Busway opened in August 2009 and the Buranda to Main Avenue section in August 2011. UQ Lakes to Buranda section Construction began in April 2007 on the UQ Lakes to Buranda section with it opening on 3 August 2009. The UQ Lakes to Buranda section of the busway was built under an alliance with Thiess, Sinclair Knight Merz and the Department of Transport and Main Roads. It included a tunnel built under the old Boggo Road Gaol. Tunnelling was done with a Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau AM105 roadheader machine. The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), is a department of the Queensland Government. TMR was formed in April 2009 by merging Queensland Transport and the Department of Main Roads. Coorparoo ( ) is a suburb in the inner City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Coorparoo had a population of 18,132 people. Geography Coorparoo is by road south-east of the Brisbane GPO. It borders Camp Hill, Holland Park, Stones Corner, Greenslopes, East Brisbane and Norman Park. Toponymy Coorparoo was chosen as the name of the suburb at a public meeting on 22 March 1875, before which it was known as Four Mile Camp. The name Coorparoo is likely derived from an Aboriginal name for Norman Creek, probably recorded by early surveyors as ''Koolpuroom''. The word is thought to refer to either a place associated with mosquitoes, or a sound made by the 'gentle dove'.
