Bukit Batok Bus Interchange
Bukit Batok Bus Interchange is an interchange bus station located at Block 631 Bukit Batok Central, Singapore, near West Mall Shopping Centre and Bukit Batok MRT station. The sheltered concourse is built underneath a multi-storey carpark similar in design to the old Serangoon Interchange. The interchange has two vehicular concourse areas, North and South. The North concourse features five sawtooth berths, two of which are used for alighting and the remaining three for boarding, with queuing lanes installed. Buses park at a bus park opposite the passenger concourse, and separate ingress and egress lanes lead to Bukit Batok Central. The South concourse features fifteen end-on berths, which are shared among five bus services. Two end-on berths are reserved for wheelchair boarding and alighting. Bukit Batok MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North South line in Bukit Batok, Singapore. Until the opening of the Woodlands Extension, the station was part of the Branch line. Bukit Batok station is situated within the town centre of Bukit Batok New Town, next to Bukit Batok Bus Interchange. West Mall () is a shopping centre located in Bukit Batok, Singapore, next to Bukit Batok MRT station. Background It was opened in 1998. It consists of eight storeys, for a total gross floor area of , and sitting on a land area of . West Mall houses a mix of retailers, such as fashion and accessory vendors, jewellery retailers, gifts and specialty stores, telcos, cafes and restaurants, a food court, a six-screen theatre, post office, community library, music school, electrical and household store and a supermarket. Bulim Bus Depot
Bulim Bus Depot is the first bus depot to be built by the Land Transport Authority in Singapore. It houses the buses of 30 bus services under the Bulim Bus Package. It is located along Bulim Avenue in Jurong West. Since 31 July 2015, the Bulim Bus Depot is being operated by Tower Transit Singapore. The depot was officially opened by Hong Kah MP Amy Khor on 6 December 2015. The depot accommodates about 500 buses and will be equipped with facilities for daily bus operations, bus maintenance and a rest area for bus drivers. Bus Contracting Model Of Singapore
The Bus Contracting Model (BCM), formerly known as the Government Contracting Model, is a contracting model introduced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in 2014 for public buses in Singapore, implemented in 2016. The BCM is based on the Transperth model in Perth, Western Australia with quality incentive elements from London Buses. Under the BCM, local and overseas bus operators bid for contracts to operate public bus services on behalf of LTA.
