Bryony Frances Smith (born 12 December 1997) is an English cricketer who plays for Surrey, Trent Rockets and Hobart Hurricanes. A right-handed batter who bowls off spin, she made her county debut for Surrey in 2014. She has played eight T20Is and one ODI for England, making her debut in 2018. Early life Smith was born on 12 December 1997 in Sutton, Greater London. She has worked as a secondary school teacher. Domestic career Smith made her Surrey debut in 2014 in a County Championship match against Warwickshire, making 13 runs batting at 7. She made 60* in her second match, a victory against Yorkshire. Smith quickly became a regular in Surrey's side, with her best seasons coming in 2018 and 2019, in which she hit 256 runs at 42.66 and 347 runs at 57.83, respectively. In 2019, she was the third highest run-scorer in the whole tournament. The Warwickshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Warwickshire. They play their home games at Edgbaston Foundation Sports Ground, Birmingham, and are captained by Marie Kelly. In 2019, they won the Women's Twenty20 Cup. The Hundred is a professional cricket league in the United Kingdom. It is the only cricket league in the world that uses the 100-ball cricket format. Sunrisers were a women's cricket team that represented the London and East region, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. The Women's Cricket Super League (WCSL), known as the Kia Super League (KSL) for sponsorship reasons, was a semi-professional women's Twenty20 cricket competition in England and Wales operated by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The competition featured six franchise teams, partnered with a variety of County cricket, county teams and boards and universities, and was envisaged as a means to bridge the gap between amateur domestic cricket and the increasingly professional international game.
