''Bright as Blasphemy'' is the upcoming tenth studio album by the American rock band Chevelle, set to be released on August 15, 2025, through Alchemy Recordings. It marks the band's first album since 2021's ''NIRATIAS'' and their first release following their departure from Epic Records. Background In June 2022, Chevelle announced that they had plans to record their tenth studio album in November or December, and release the album in 2023. In multiple interviews, drummer Sam Loeffler described the writing process as "torturous," comparing it to "pulling your hair out and then trying to put it back in." The album was self-produced by Pete and Sam Loeffler, marking a departure from their longtime collaboration with Joe Barresi producing their albums, with touring bassist Kemble Walters assisting in engineering. Chevelle (band)
Chevelle is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Grayslake, Illinois, in 1995. The band was originally composed of two brothers, Pete Loeffler (lead vocals and guitar) and Sam Loeffler (drums and percussion), along with Matt Scott (bass and backing vocals). Scott was replaced by Sam and Pete's brother, Joe Loeffler, in 1996. When Joe left the band in 2005, Geno Lenardo subbed in as the touring bassist until he was replaced by Pete and Sam's brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini. Bernardini departed from the band in 2019, and in 2021, Kemble Walters joined the band as a touring bassist. The band's first studio album, ''Point No. 1, Point #1'', was released on a small record label called Squint Entertainment. Pete Loeffler
Peter Loeffler ( ; born October 19, 1976) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is the lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter of the rock band Chevelle alongside his brother, drummer Sam Loeffler, who are the only continuous original members of the band. Pete, Sam, and bassist Joe Loeffler formed Chevelle in 1995. Joe left the band in 2005, later being replaced with their brother-in-law Dean Bernardini. As of February 2024, Chevelle has released nine studio albums. Early life Loeffler started off in music when he started taking piano lessons in his family at seven years old. ''NIRATIAS'' (an acronym for "Nothing Is Real and This Is a Simulation") is the ninth studio album by American rock band Chevelle, released on March 5, 2021. It was preceded by four singles: " Self Destructor", "Peach", "Remember When", and "Endlessly". The album was produced by Joe Barresi and was their first studio album in five years, the previous being 2016's '' The North Corridor''. It is also their only album as a two-piece, as bassist Dean Bernardini left the band in late 2019, leaving vocalist Pete Loeffler to play both guitar and bass on the album.
