Bridge 9 Records is an American hardcore record label located outside Beverly, Massachusetts. Bridge Nine is owned by Chris Wrenn of Salem, Massachusetts, who began the label in 1995 and produced its first release in 1996. In 2022, the label opened a record store. Name The label is named as a metaphor for what Wrenn wanted to do in creating the label: bridge all parts of the hardcore scene into one label and then put his lucky number (nine) in the title. Candy Hearts (band)
''Candy Hearts'' is an American pop rock band from New Jersey and New York, formed in 2009 by singer/guitarist Mariel Loveland and guitarist Kris Hayes. As the band’s primary songwriter, Loveland was the only member to see through every one of its incarnations. Background The band's first collection of demos, "Ripped Up Jeans and Silly Dreams", was released for free online in 2010 but never saw a physical release. It featured Loveland, Hayes (who also played bass on the recording) and drummer Louie Aronowitz. Aronowitz later left the band, and was replaced by drummer Nick Noto. They added bassist Greg Baldwin, and Hayes switched from the live bass player to lead guitar. Noto then left the group in 2011 and was replaced by Christina Picciano. Gallows were an English hardcore punk band from Watford, Hertfordshire. The band was formed in 2004 after Laurent Barnard's previous band disbanded. Gallows' debut album, ''Orchestra of Wolves'', was distributed in the United States by Epitaph Records. The band were subsequently signed to Warner Music Group, Warner Bros. Records for a £1 million album contract, and released their second album ''Grey Britain'' in 2009. F-Minus
F-Minus was an American hardcore punk band formed in 1995 in Huntington Beach, California, United States, started by Jen Johnson and Brad Logan. F-Minus was known for their dueling male and female vocals in songs that were sometimes as short as 12 seconds ("Fuck You O.C."). Before breaking up in 2004, their last album was recorded by Steve Albini. Throughout their career, they covered such bands as Antidote, Black Randy and the Metro Squad, 7 Seconds, Negative Approach, and Agnostic Front. Expire was an American hardcore punk band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, active from 2009 to 2017. They were signed to Bridge 9 Records. History Expire was formed in 2009. They released three full-length albums, three EPs and one split. They released their first full length, titled ''Pendulum Swings'' in 2012. They released their second full length, titled ''Pretty Low'' in 2014. ''Pretty Low'' peaked at No. 175 on the Billboard 200 chart. DYS (band)
DYS is an American straight edge hardcore punk band from Boston, Massachusetts, who were part of the " Boston Crew" in the 1980s, along with contemporaries such as SSD and Negative FX. The group later expanded their sound, becoming one of the first hardcore bands to veer into heavy metal. History Formation DYS was founded in the 1980s by singer Dave Smalley and bassist Jonathan Anastas. Defeater is an American melodic hardcore band from Massachusetts, formed in 2008. To date they have released five full-length albums, two EPs and three singles. Dave Hause (born March 12, 1978) is an American singer-songwriter. He currently performs both solo and with his band The Mermaid. His music draws from heartland rock, folk rock and punk rock. He has also played in multiple Philadelphia-area punk and hardcore bands, including The Loved Ones and The Falcon.
