Brian Marcil
Brian Marcil (born April 6, 1948) is a former professional football player in the Canadian Football League. Marcil was born in Richmond, Quebec, and graduated from Loyola College in Montreal, where he starred on the Warriors' undefeated 1968 team (which has since been inducted into Concordia University's Sports Hall of Fame.) He had a 6-year CFL career, mostly with the Calgary Stampeders (5 years and 46 games from 1970 to 1974) where he played on the Grey Cup winning 1971 team. Richmond, Quebec
Richmond, population 3,232 (2016), is a town nestled amidst rolling farmlands on the Saint-François River between Sherbrooke and Drummondville, in the heart of Estrie in Quebec, Canada. History Originally settled by colonists from New England, Montreal and the Richelieu River valley circa 1798, Richmond is one of the oldest settlements in the former region of the Eastern Townships. Richmond grew in importance during the 1800s when it became a key railway junction. The St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad opened between Montreal and Portland, Maine, on April 4, 1853 and was purchased four months later and absorbed into the Grand Trunk Railway (GTR)'s system. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and typically line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and so back up the defensive linemen. Loyola College was a Jesuit college in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was founded in 1896 and ceased to exist as an independent institution in 1974 when it was incorporated into Concordia University. A portion of the original college remains as a separate entity called Loyola High School (Montreal), Loyola High School. The Calgary Stampeders are a professional Canadian football team based in Calgary, Alberta. The Stampeders compete in the West Division (CFL), West Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
