Brent Draper
Brent Draper (born 2 May 1989) is an Australian television cook and digital content creator who came to prominence as the winner of the fifteenth series of ''MasterChef Australia''. Personal life Brent Draper was born on 2 May 1989 in Beaudesert, Queensland. His father worked in the meat industry. After working in concrete pumping, Draper trained as a boilermaker. He met his wife-to-be Shonleigh in 2011; they married in 2016 and have one son, born in 2018. MasterChef Draper was selected to compete in series 13 of ''MasterChef Australia'' in 2021. After reaching the Top 13, he withdrew from the competition on 13 June, citing mental health issues. In 2023, having received help and support, Draper rejoined ''MasterChef'' for ''series 15.'' TV Tonight is an Australian-based website which features reviews, news and programming information related to television in Australia as well as OzTAM ratings information. The site was started by television critic David Knox in 2007 after listeners of his radio programs asked him for information they had missed. Knox runs the site, publishing his interviews with Australian media actors, producers, directors and programmers. ''MasterChef'' is a competitive cooking show television format created by Franc Roddam, which originated with the British version in July 1990. The show aims to discover the culinary talent of chefs of varying skill levels, through a series of cooking challenges, watched over by various acclaimed food critics and chefs. Dave Ross commissioned the show for the BBC and gave it the name; he had already produced '' Masterteam'', a quiz show hosted by Angela Rippon, and worked on the long-running ''Mastermind'', and so the name was a continuation of that. Barry "Jock" Zonfrillo (4 August 1976 – 1 May 2023) was a Scottish chef, television presenter and restaurateur. He was the founder of the Orana Foundation and a judge on ''MasterChef Australia''. Early life Zonfrillo was born in Glasgow, Scotland and raised in Ayr. His father, Ivan, was a barber and his mother, Sarah, was a hairdresser. His mother's family is Scottish from Dalmellington, Ayrshire, while his father is from Scauri, Italy. He had an older sister, Carla. Zonfrillo attended Belmont Academy in Ayr.
