''Secret Service of the Air'' (also known as ''Murder Plane'') is a 1939 American adventure film directed by Noel M. Smith and starring Ronald Reagan. This film was the first in Warner Bros.' Grand Central Airport (United States)
Grand Central Airport is a former airport in Glendale, California. Also known as Grand Central Air Terminal (GCAT), the airport was an important facility for the growing Los Angeles suburb in the 1920s and a key element in the development of United States aviation. The terminal, located at 1310 Air Way, was built in 1928 and still exists, owned since 1997 by The Walt Disney Company as a part of its Grand Central Creative Campus (GC3). Three hangars also remain standing. The location of the single concrete runway has been preserved, but is now a public street as the runway was dug up and converted into Grand Central Avenue. The terminal building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 27, 2017. John Harron (March 31, 1904 – November 24, 1939) was an American actor. He appeared in more than 160 films between 1918 and 1940. Born on March 31, 1904, in New York City, he was the brother of actor Robert Harron and of actress Mary Harron. Harron graduated from Santa Clara University. His film debut came in '' Through the Back Door'' (1921). After acting for Universal, he was under contract to Warner Bros. Rosella Towne (January 20, 1918 – August 29, 2014) was an American film actress. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio. Her film career began in 1937, after making a screen test for Warner Bros. and signing a contract for the studio. At first she made minor appearances in motion pictures such as ''Varsity Show (film), Varsity Show'', ''It's Love I'm After'' and ''Submarine D-1''. She studied with Neely Dickson at the Hollywood Community Theater. In 1939, she got her first leading role when she was chosen to play the part of comic-strip character Jane Arden (comics), Jane Arden in a film adaption. James Albert Stephenson (14 April 1889 – 29 July 1941) was a British stage and film actor. He took up film acting at 49 and after a typically slow start delivered an Academy Award-nominated performance in the William Wyler-directed melodrama, ''The Letter'' in 1940. The roles offered to Stephenson dramatically improved following this performance, but he died just a year later at 52. Early life Stephenson was the son of chemist and druggist John G.
