Charles Orwell Brasch (27 July 1909 – 20 May 1973) was a New Zealand poet, literary editor and arts patron. He was the founding editor of the literary journal ''Landfall'', and through his 20 years of editing the journal, had a significant impact on the development of a literary and artistic culture in New Zealand. His poetry continues to be published in anthologies today, and he provided substantial philanthropic support to the arts in New Zealand, including by establishing the Robert Burns Fellowship, the Frances Hodgkins Fellowship and the Mozart Fellowship at the University of Otago, by providing financial support to New Zealand writers and artists during his lifetime, and by bequeathing his extensive collection of books and artwork in his will to the Hocken Collections, Hocken Library and the University of Otago. Thomas Brasch (19 February 1945 – 3 November 2001) was a German author, poet and film director. Life Born in Westow, Yorkshire, England, Thomas Brasch was the son of German Jewish Communist émigré parents. In 1947, the family returned to East Germany. Brasch attended school in Cottbus. From 1956 to 1960, he was at the National People's Army Cadet School and made his Abitur. From 1964, he studied journalism in Leipzig and was forced in 1965 to ex-matriculate. Since 1966 he worked at the theater Volksbühne Berlin. and studied dramaturgy at the film school Babelsberg afterwards. Paul Brasch is a stand-up comedian from Brisbane, Australia. He has appeared on ''The Midday Show'', ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'', The Comedy Channel's ''Headliners'' and '' Stand Up Australia'', and various other television shows, as well as a stint on radio in ''The Paul Brasch Comedy Hour'' on Triple M. Moritz Brasch (18 August 1843 in Zempelburg, Prussia, now Sępólno Krajeńskie – 14 September 1895 in Leipzig) was a German philosopher and man of letters.
