Brandon Ryan
Brandon Ryan (born 7 November 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL), having previously played for the Hawthorn Football Club. Early career Brandon Ryan grew up at Barwon Heads, Victoria, where he learnt to play with the local juniors. He later played with the Geelong West Giants in the GFL. His style of play create interest from Geelong but only North Melbourne offered him a contract. He accepted a two-year deal with the to play in their VFL side. He didn't play a game at North so after Covid lockdown finished he found himself at Maribyrnong Park in the EDFL. Former AFL player and current Northern Bullants coach Brodie Holland, invited him to do a preseason in 2023. As the Bullants were a stand-alone club, there were plenty of opportunities for an ambitious footballer. He played seven games before getting drafted. The 2023 Victorian Football League season was the 141st season of the Victorian Football Association/Victorian Football League, a second-tier Australian rules football competition played in the states of Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. Essendon District Football League
The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. Promotion and relegation between these divisions occurs, with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 being relegated at the end of each season. Clubs which win the Division 1 and Division 2 premierships are automatically promoted. Each men's team also fields a reserves side and an under-19 side that play a fixture mirroring that of the senior side.
