Boye (band)
Boye (pronounced ; a pun coming from grammatical gender, feminine of ''boy'' and from ''boje'', transl. ''colors'') were a Serbian and SFRY, Yugoslav Rock music, rock band formed in Novi Sad in 1981. Until the late 1980s, Boye were an all-female band, but later lineups also featured male members, with drummer Biljana Babić being the only mainstay member during the band's career. Initially a part of the New wave music in Yugoslavia, Yugoslav new wave scene, Boye later moved towards garage rock-influenced alternative rock. The band released four studio albums before disbanding in 2000. Jugoton was the largest record label and chain record store in the former Yugoslavia based in Zagreb, SR Croatia. History Jugoton was formed in 1947. It replaced Elektroton, which had been founded in 1937, nationalized in 1945, and liquidated in 1947, acquiring its machines and matrices. By 1961, Jugoton was producing 2,371,600 records a year. It is notable for releasing some of the most important former Yugoslav pop and rock records. In addition, the company owned a widespread network of record shops across SFR Yugoslavia. Au Pairs
The Au Pairs were a British post-punk band that formed in Birmingham in 1978 and continued until 1983. They produced two studio albums and three singles. Their songs were said to have "contempt for the cliches of contemporary sexual politics" and their music has been compared to that of the Gang of Four and the Young Marble Giants. The band was led by Lesley Woods, who was once described as "one of the most striking women in British rock". Career Au Pairs formed in Birmingham in 1978. The Raincoats
The Raincoats are a British post-punk band formed in 1977. They were founded by Ana da Silva (vocals, guitar) and Gina Birch (vocals, bass) while the two were students at Hornsey College of Art in London. Luna (1980s Serbian Band)
Luna ( sr-Cyrl, Луна; trans. ''The Moon'') was a Serbian and former Yugoslav post-punk/gothic rock band from Novi Sad. Formed on the ashes of the new wave band La Strada and named after the Bernardo Bertolucci film '' La Luna'', Luna quickly gained the public's attention and established a cult status. Owing to Marko Brecelj, a former Buldožer member, who had approached them after a performance in Rijeka, Zoran Bulatović "Bale" (guitar), Slobodan Tišma (vocals), Ivan Fece "Firchie" (drums) and Jasmina Mitrušić "Mina" (keyboards, vocals) got the opportunity to release their debut album. However, their debut and only album '' Nestvarne stvari'' (''Unreal Things'') was released after the band disbanded.
