Borja Bagunyà
Borja Bagunyà Costes (born 1982, Barcelona) is a Catalan writer and university professor. Biography He has a degree in literary theory and comparative literature from the University of Barcelona, where he is an associate professor. He is also co-founder of the Escola Bloom (Bloom literature School) with Lana Bastasic and editor of the literary magazine ''Carn de cap''. He wrote his first book of short stories at the age of 19 – published in 2004, ''Apunts per al retrat d'una ciutat'' — 2 and in 2007 won the Mercè Rodoreda Award for short stories for ''Defensa pròpia''. In 2011 he published ''Plantes d'Interior ''(Empúries) and in 2021 ''Els angles morts'' (Periscopi). Winner of the Critics' Award 2022 in the category of Catalan narrative, it has been translated into Spanish by Rubén Martín Giráldez with the title ''Los Puntos Ciegos''. Lana Bastašić
Lana Bastašić ( sr-Cyrl, Лана Басташић; born 27 August 1986) is a Bosnian and Serbian writer, novelist and translator. She was born in Zagreb, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia (today Croatia). Early life and education She was born in Zagreb to a Serbian family in 1986 and moved to Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina as a young child. She studied English at the University of Banja Luka and received an MA in Cultural Studies from the University of Belgrade. Career Bastašić's debut novel '' Catch the Rabbit'' (') was published in Belgrade in 2018, and then reprinted in Sarajevo. The structure of the book draws inspiration from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with themes of exile, identity, and is divided into twelve chapters, as is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Mercè Rodoreda Award
The Mercè Rodoreda Award for stories and narrations, officially and in Catalan Premi Mercè Rodoreda is a literary award in the Catalan language convened by Òmnium Cultural and the Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana and published by Edicions Proa. Initially called the Víctor Català Award (named after Victor Català), which was awarded for the first time in 1953, in 1998 it changed its name to become the current Mercè Rodoreda Award (named after Mercè Rodoreda) for stories and narratives. Works of original and unpublished stories or narratives, written in Catalan, are eligible for the prize. Its delivery takes place during the L''iterary Night of Santa Llúcia'' during the month of December. The prize has an endowment of 6,000 euros.
