Boris Alexandrov Sports Palace (, ''Borıs Aleksandrov atyndaǵy sport saraıy''; ) is an ice hockey indoor arena in Oskemen, Kazakhstan. The sports palace was renamed after Soviet and Kazakhstani ice hockey player Boris Alexandrov in 2010. It is the home arena of the Kazzinc-Torpedo hockey club. History The sports palace was constructed from 1964 to 1968. It was the first stadium in Kazakhstan to utilize a truss in construction. Kazzinc (, قازمىرىش, ) with its headquarters in Oskemen is Kazakhstan's largest producer of zinc, lead and precious metals. The general investor is Glencore International AG. Kazzinc’s core operations are in East-Kazakhstan, Karagandy and Akmola regions of Kazakhstan. According to the data for 2020, Kazzinc employs over 20,000 people. Boris Viktorovich Alexandrov (; November 13, 1955 - July 31, 2002) was a Soviet Union, Soviet and Kazakhstan, Kazakh professional ice hockey player. Alexandrov competed for Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk and HC CSKA Moscow, CSKA Moscow and also HC Spartak Moscow, Spartak Moscow. He was Soviet_Championship_League#Soviet_League_Champions, Soviet league champion in 1974–75 Soviet League season, 1975, 1976–77 Soviet League season, 1977 and 1977–78 Soviet League season, 1978, additionally he won a gold medal at the Ice hockey at the 1976 Winter Olympics, 1976 Winter Olympic Games.
