Boise Fire Department
The Boise Fire Department is the agency that provides fire suppression services within the city of Boise, Idaho and contract services to two fire districts in suburban Ada County including Garden City and Hidden Springs. It is the largest fire department in Idaho. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are provided by the separate county agency, Ada County Paramedics. Currently, Boise Fire Department has 300+ full time employees, 17 Fire Stations, a Hazardous Materials Team, ARFF team, Dive Team and a Technical Rescue Team. The Department serves a population of 236,000 residents in 130+ square miles. History Boise's first fire department was created on January 24, 1876; consisting of 28 volunteers. Ada County is located in the southwestern part of Idaho, United States. As of the 2020 census, the county had a population of 494,967, which by 2024 was estimated to have risen to 535,799. Garden City, Idaho
Garden City is a city in Ada County, Idaho. The population was 12,316 at the time of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Garden City is nearly surrounded by Boise, Idaho, Boise but retains a separate municipal government. Garden City was named for gardens raised by Chinese immigrants who lived in the area. The name of the city's only main street, Chinden Boulevard, is a portmanteau of the words "China" and "garden." In the second decade of the 21st century, it became a haven for artists' studios. Hidden Springs, Idaho
Hidden Springs is a master-planned community in the Dry Creek Valley in Ada County, Idaho, United States. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined the community as a census-designated place (CDP). Its population was 2,280 as of the United States Census, 2010, 2010 census. Description The community manages more than of permanently preserved open space and its own wastewater treatment facility. Architecture is primarily in a neo-traditional style, with many homes having garages accessible through rear alleys. The result is a neighborhood that is generally more pedestrian-friendly than the typical suburban subdivision. Demographics Education The area is in Boise School District. Aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) is a type of firefighting that involves the emergency response, mitigation, evacuation, and rescue of passengers and crew of aircraft involved in aviation accidents and incidents. KTVB (channel 7) is a television station in Boise, Idaho, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by Tegna Inc. The station's studios are located on West Fairview Avenue (off I-184) in Boise, and its transmitter is located on Deer Point in unincorporated Boise County. It is rebroadcast by KTFT-LD (channel 7) in Twin Falls, Idaho, Twin Falls, which airs KTVB programming with local advertising for the Magic Valley area from its transmitter on Flat Top Butte near Jerome, Idaho, and maintains a local sales office in Twin Falls.
