Blue Party (Guatemala)
Blue Party ( es, Partido Azul) is a political party in Guatemala. History Blue Party was established in 2020, the leader and founder is Isaac Farchi, a Guatemalan businessman of Jewish ancestry who was a presidential candidate for Vision with Values in the 2019 general election. On 25 April 2022, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal legalized the political party. In December 2022, Blue Party nominated Isaac Farchi and Mauricio Zaldaña as presidential ticket. According to Farchi, the political party does not have any candidate for re-election. In the 2023 general election, Farchi obtained 1.46% and 12th place. The party obtained two deputies: one for the National List and the other for Jutiapa Department. Isaac Farchi Sultán (born 12 June 1960) is an international businessman and a politician. He is the son of the businessman Nissim Farchi Finkelstain, an Israeli born in Bulgaria, and Vilma Sultan Berchowitz, a Guatemalan of Israeli origin. 2023 Guatemalan General Election
General elections were held in Guatemala on 25 June 2023 to elect the president and vice president, all 160 seats of the Congress, all 20 members of the Central American Parliament, and mayors and councils for all 340 municipalities in the country. Incumbent president Alejandro Giammattei was constitutionally prohibited from running for a second four-year term. As no presidential candidate obtained over 50% of the vote, a second round was scheduled between the top two finishers on 20 August. The official count of the general election by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal indicated that Sandra Torres from National Unity of Hope and Bernardo Arévalo from Semilla would contest the second round. Alta Verapaz () is a department in the north central part of Guatemala. The capital and chief city of the department is Cobán. Verapaz is bordered to the north by El Petén, to the east by Izabal, to the south by Zacapa, El Progreso, and Baja Verapaz, and to the west by El Quiché. Chahal, Guatemala
Chahal is a municipality in the Guatemalan department of Alta Verapaz. The name originates from the Mayans. History Spanish conquest and the Dominican friars On his second visit to Guatemala, in 1537, friar Bartolome de las Casas, O.P. wanted to employ his new method of conversion based on two principles: 1) to preach the Gospel to all men and treat them as equals, and 2) to assert that conversion must be voluntary and based on knowledge and understanding of the Faith. Jutiapa Department
Jutiapa Department is a department of Guatemala that borders along El Salvador and the Pacific Ocean. The capital is the city of Jutiapa. As of 2018, it has a population of 488,395. The department is divided into seventeen municipalities. Jutiapa is the country's southeasternmost department and officially the only department with no Mayan descendants native to the region. The main crops are sorghum, tobacco, onion and corn. The climate is dry. An important attraction is the cattle fair. It is at 405 m above sea level. The population is ethnically "Ladino" (of European descent & non Mayan-indigenous), though in the northern regions of Jutiapa there are few descendants that once belonged to the now extinct Xinca population. The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (officially: Supreme Electoral Tribunal of the Republic of Guatemala) is the highest authority in electoral matters. It is an independent constitutional body of political control, and therefore it is not subordinated to any organism of the State.
