In archaeology, in particular of the Stone Age, lithic reduction is the process of fashioning stones or rocks from their natural state into Stone tool, tools or History of weapons#Prehistory_and_the_ancient_world, weapons by removing some parts. It has been intensely studied and many archaeological industries are identified almost entirely by the lithic analysis of the precise style of their tools and the chaîne opératoire of the reduction techniques they used. Normally the starting point is the selection of a piece of tool stone that has been detached by natural geological processes, and is an appropriate size and shape. In some cases solid rock or larger boulders may be quarried and broken into suitable smaller pieces, and in others the starting point may be a piece of the debitage, a flake removed from a previous operation to make a larger tool. The Blanks are an American a cappella group. They were recurring guests on the TV series '' Scrubs'' under various names such as Ted's Band and The Worthless Peons. They have released two albums: '' Riding the Wave'' and ''Worth The Weight.'' Members * Sam Lloyd – baritone Riding the Wave by the Blanks (Parody Records, 2004) (deceased) * Philip McNiven – tenor * George Miserlis – baritone * Paul F. Perry – bass History Sam Lloyd and George Miserlis met Paul Perry while studying at Syracuse University. Some time later they met Philip McNiven while living in Los Angeles and formed the group. Jim Blanks
Jim Blanks (born August 13, 1952) is an American former basketball player. He began his collegiate career with the Moberly Greyhounds before he transferred to play for the Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs for his final three seasons of eligibility. Blanks was an NAIA All-American selection during his senior season in 1974–75. He ranks in the top 10 of total points and rebounds for the Runnin' Bulldogs. Blanks was selected by the Houston Rockets as the 29th overall pick in the 1975 NBA draft. Ernests Blanks ( in Braslava parish, Braslava, Valmiera County, Governorate of Livonia, Russian Empire – 31 January 1972 in Palma, Majorca, Palma, Majorca, Spain), publicist, the first to publicly advocate for Latvia's independence in 1917. Ernests Blanks was editorial writer of ''Dzimtenes Atbalss'' (Fatherland's Echo). Simon de Wit (born 19 April 1997), known professionally as Blanks, is a Dutch singer, musician and YouTuber. Beginning his music career as a YouTuber, he created his channel 'Music by Blanks' in 2013. His remakes of Bazzi's " Mine" and Post Malone's " Better Now" went viral in 2018 and became his breakthrough. Career In 2013, De Wit started his own YouTube channel under the name of 'Music by Blanks', where he regularly uploads music and vlog videos. His earliest videos were done in Dutch, but after his remake of Bazzi's " Mine" went viral in February 2018, he decided to switch fully to English. Blanks is the name of an unincorporated community located in southwestern Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, United States. The community is said to have been named after Handsell B. Blanks. Blanks was part owner of the Bomer-Blanks Lumber Company that once operated in the area. Blank (1740–1770) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He only won one race, but became a very successful sire and was British Champion sire in 1762, 1764 and 1770. Background Blank was a bay colt bred by the 2nd Earl of Godolphin and foaled in 1740. He was sired by Godolphin Arabian, who was an Arabian horse and three-time Champion sire. Amongst Godolphin Arabian's other progeny were Lath, Cade, and Regulus. Blank's dam was Little Mare, also known as Amorett, who was a daughter of Flying Wigg. Its 2019 premiere at the Donmar Warehouse in London was in celebration of the fortieth anniversary of Clean Break (theatre company), Clean Break.
