Blanks (musician)
Simon de Wit (born 19 April 1997), known professionally as Blanks, is a Dutch musician and YouTuber. Beginning his music career as a YouTuber, he created his channel 'Music by Blanks' in 2013. His remakes of Bazzi's "Mine" and Post Malone's "Better Now" went viral in 2018 and became his breakthrough. Career In 2013, De Wit started his own YouTube channel under the name of 'Music by Blanks', where he regularly uploads music and vlog videos. His earliest videos were done in Dutch, but after his remake of Bazzi's "Mine" went viral in February 2018, he decided to switch fully to English. One of his current video formats is "Style Swap", where he remakes an existing song into an 80s-style track. De Wit's remake of Post Malone's "Better Now" in June 2018 became his biggest breakthrough. After doing cover videos for several years, De Wit started writing and producing his own music. NPO Radio 2 is a public-service radio station from the Netherlands, broadcasting in an adult hits format, focusing on music from the 1980s to the 2010s and current hits, however 1960s and 1970s hits may also air. ''Beste Zangers'', formerly ''De beste zangers van Nederland'' (English: ''The Best Singers (of the Netherlands)''), is a Dutch reality television show by public broadcaster AVROTROS (a merger of AVRO and TROS, both part of the Netherlands Public Broadcasting). The first series was aired between 5 July and 30 August 2009 and was hosted by Edsilia Rombley. She was first replaced by singer and actor Victor Reinier (2010, 2011) before Jan Smit became the permanent host from 2012 to 2019. In each series a number of well-known performers take turns as the central artist in the hot seat that gets honoured by the other artists by singing songs that are of significance to that person. AVROTROS
AVROTROS () is a Dutch radio and television broadcaster that is part of the Dutch public broadcasting system. It was founded in 2014 as the result of a merger between the Algemene Vereniging Radio Omroep (AVRO) and the Televisie Radio Omroep Stichting (TROS). The name AVROTROS has been used for jointly produced programmes since 1 January 2014. Since 7 September 2014, all existing AVRO and TROS programmes have also been broadcast under the name AVROTROS. Building Prior to 2014, the AVRO was housed in the building in Hilversum from 2000, while the TROS operated from the former Christelijk Lyceum, also in Hilversum, from 1970. Radio 538 () is a Dutch commercial radio station that was founded in Hilversum, Netherlands in 1992. It is the second-most listened to radio station in the Netherlands. Radio 538 refers to the wavelength on which Radio Veronica used to broadcast in the 1970s. The station is owned by Talpa Network. Mostly targetting a young audience, the station plays a mix of current dance, R&B, pop, and rock hits. The music selection is mainly based on the Dutch Top 40 chart. Eurosonic Noorderslag is an annual four-day music showcase festival and conference held in January in Groningen, Netherlands. The first three days of the festival (Eurosonic) feature artists from all over Europe, the last day of the festival (Noorderslag) features only Dutch artists.
