Ellie Noa Blanche Delvaux (; born 10 June 1999), better known mononymously as Blanche , is a Belgian singer and songwriter. She represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine with the song "City Lights", finishing in fourth place. Blanche previously competed on season five of '' The Voice Belgique'', where she was a member of Team Cats on Trees. Early life Ellie Delvaux was born in Belgium, on 10 June 1999. She is Jewish and speaks French, English, and Hebrew. As a child, she liked to sing to herself. She later attended musical theatre classes and took part in school performances. Maison Blanche (, ''White House'') was a department store in New Orleans, Louisiana, and later also a chain of department stores. It was founded in 1897 by Isidore Newman, an immigrant from Germany. Maison Blanche is perhaps best remembered for introducing the locally popular Mr. Bingle Christmas mascot and for its landmark flagship store on Canal Street. Mondeuse blanche () is a variety of white grape almost exclusively found in and around the Savoy (Savoie) wine region in France. With just of plantations in 1999, it leads a dwindling existence and is used primarily in the VDQS wine Bugey and the AOC Vin de Savoie. Related grapes Some studies have suggested that Mondeuse blanche is a parent of Syrah. However, more recent, long-read sequencing of the Syrah/Shiraz genome suggests that this relationship may be more complex than parent-offspring (Onetto et al. 2022). Despite their similarity in names, Mondeuse blanche is not closely related to Mondeuse noire, or Mondeuse gris. Grapes just called Mondeuse are usually Mondeuse noire rather than Mondeuse blanche. Blanche is an American alternative country band from Detroit, Michigan. Their music is based in Americana, early country, and folk blues, with a touch of haunting Southern Gothic stylings and garage rock mentality. Blanche is known for wearing vintage fashion of the early to mid-20th century. The origins of Blanche can be traced back to the early '90s band Goober & the Peas. Led by Dan "Goober" Miller, the band was devoted to cowpunk, and dressed in honky-tonk attire. After the break-up of Goober & The Peas, three of the band's members—Dan Miller, Jack White, and Damian Lang—formed the garage rock band Two-Star Tabernacle with Miller's wife Tracee Mae Miller. Blanche () is a station on Paris Métro Line 2, on the border of the 9th and the 18th arrondissements. Location The station is located under Boulevard de Clichy in Montmartre, east of Place Blanche. Oriented approximately along an east–west axis, it is located between the Place de Clichy and Pigalle metro stations. History The station was opened on 21 October 1902 as part of the extension of line 2 Nord from Étoile to Anvers and simply as line 2 from 17 October 1907.
