Black Mountain Invitational
The Black Mountain Invitational was a golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour played at the Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, between 2013 and 2016. A pre-season limited field-event, it featured the top 20 players from the previous season's Swedish Golf Tour Order of Merit and a further six invitees. It was not part of the Nordic Golf League. Hua Hin
Hua Hin (, ) is one of eight districts (''amphoe'') of Prachuap Khiri Khan province in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula in Thailand. Its seat of government, also named Hua Hin, is a beach resort town. The district's population was estimated at 65,983 in December 2019 by the Bureau of Registration Administration in an area of . By road, it is south-southwest of Bangkok. Hua Hin district is in the middle of what the Thai government is promoting as the “Thai Riviera”, the stretch of coastline between Phetchaburi in the north and Chumphon in the south. History In 1834, before the name Hua Hin was coined, some agricultural areas of Phetchaburi province were hit by severe drought. A group of farmers moved south until they found a small village that had bright white sand and a row of rocks along the beach. Johan Edfors
Johan Edfors (born 10 October 1975) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays primarily on the European Tour. Early life and amateur career Edfors was born in Varberg. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio on a Division I athletic scholarship for men's golf. He played for the team under the coaching of Barry Denton for two years. Professional career Edfors turned professional in 1997. He spent several years playing the second tier Challenge Tour, but failed to make the top hundred on the Order of Merit until 2003, when he won twice and topped the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. He narrowly failed to hold on to his tour card in 2004, but at the end of 2005 he regained it at the Final Qualifying School. In 2006, Edfors achieved a maiden European Tour win at the TCL Classic and quickly followed up by winning the more prestigious Quinn Direct British Masters and the Scottish Open. Jacob Glennemo
Jacob Glennemo (born 25 May 1987) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the Challenge Tour between 2013 and 2020. He won the 2014 Nordic Golf League Order of Merit. Professional career Glennemo turned professional in 2007 and joined the Nordic Golf League. He recorded his maiden NGL victory at the 2012 Landskrona Masters and finished 5th in the season rankings, to qualify for the Challenge Tour. As a Challenge Tour rookie in 2013 he made 7 cuts in 16 starts. He was also runner-up at the Black Mountain Invitational in Thailand behind Johan Edfors, and made his first cut on the European Tour, at the Lyoness Open in France. In 2014, he won three tournaments and topped the Nordic Golf League Order of Merit, to again secure a Challenge Tour card. In 2016 he was tied 7th at the Najeti Open in France. Sebastian Söderberg
Jan Sebastian Söderberg (born 19 September 1990) is a Swedish professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Söderberg was born in Eksjö in Småland, Sweden, but grew up playing golf at Delsjö Golf Club in Gothenburg on the west coast of the country. He won four junior tournaments in the Gothenburg area. He was part of the Swedish team winning the 2008 European Boys' Team Championship at Bled Golf Club, Slovenia. He also represented Sweden twice at the European Amateur Team Championship. Söderberg played college golf at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina from 2009 to 2013, where he won twice. His best World Amateur Golf Ranking was 51st. Professional career Söderberg turned professional in August 2013 and won twice on the Nordic Golf League the following month. David James Palm (born 7 July 1958) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. Black Mountain Golf Club
Black Mountain Golf Club is a championship golf course located ten kilometers west of the city of Hua Hin, Thailand. Recognized as one of the best in Thailand and Asia-Pacific, it has hosted the Black Mountain Masters and the International Series Thailand on the Asian Tour, as well as the True Thailand Classic, co-sanctioned by the European Tour. History The club was founded by Swedish entrepreneur Stig Notlöv in 2005. Notlöv was born in Pajala and founded , a chain of 200 home improvement stores, which he sold to invest in the course in Hua Hin. The original 18 holes opened on 20 April 2007, and in 2016 another 9 holes, the West course, were added. Numerous awards followed rapidly.
