William Henry Walsh (September 8, 1927 – May 13, 2012) was an American football center who played six seasons in the National Football League, all with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Walsh then coached in both college and professional football between 1955 and 1991. Bill Walsh (American Football Coach)
William Ernest Walsh (November 30, 1931 – July 30, 2007) was an American professional and college football coach. He served as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers and the Stanford Cardinal, during which time he popularized the West Coast offense. After retiring from the 49ers, Walsh worked as a sports broadcaster for several years and then returned as head coach at Stanford for three seasons. Walsh went 102–63–1 (wins-losses-ties) with the 49ers, winning 10 of his 14 postseason games along with six division titles, three NFC Championship titles, and three Super Bowls. He was named NFL Coach of the Year in 1981 and 1984. In 1993, he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. William Walsh (4 December 1923 – 28 July 2014), known as Bill or Billy Walsh, was an English footballer who made 145 appearances in the Football League playing as a centre half for Sunderland, Northampton Town and Darlington. Walsh began his career in non-league football with Horden Colliery Welfare, and made his competitive debut for Sunderland on 11 September 1946 against Charlton Athletic in a 5–0 defeat at The Valley. Overall, he went on to make 98 First Division appearances and scored one goal for the club in a career spanning from 1946 to 1953. He spent one season each with Northampton Town and Darlington, before emigrating to Australia in 1956, where he played for Hakoah. Bill Walsh (hurler)
William Walsh (1922 – 26 March 2013) was an Irish hurler who played as a left wing-back for the Kilkenny senior team. Walsh joined the team during the 1944 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1958 championship. During that time he won two All-Ireland medal and five Leinster medals. Walsh was an All-Ireland runner-up on four occasions. At club level Walsh was a one-time Kilkenny club championship medalist with Carrickshock. He also won a Dublin club championship medal with Young Irelands. Playing career Club Walsh began his club hurling career with Carrickshock. In 1942 he lined out in his first championship decider. A narrow 3–2 to 2–3 defeat of Threecastles gave Walsh a Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship medal. A move to Dublin saw Walsh join the Young Irelands club. William Crozier Walsh (September 30, 1913 – January 27, 1975) was a film producer, screenwriter and comics writer who primarily worked on live-action films for Walt Disney Productions. He was born in New York City. For his work on '' Mary Poppins'', he shared Academy Award nominations for Best Picture with Walt Disney, and for Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium with Don DaGradi. He also wrote the ''Mickey Mouse'' comic strip for more than two decades. He died in Los Angeles and was interred in Glendale's Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Cosmic Psychos
Cosmic Psychos are an Australian punk rock band which formed in 1982 as Spring Plains. Founding members included Ross Knight on bass guitar and vocals; Robbie Addington on guitar and vocals; and Steve Morrow on vocals. Australian rock music historian, Ian McFarlane, described their music as "arty kind of punk noise, somewhere between The Birthday Party and a more narcotic sounding Ramones". Late in 1984 the group was renamed as Cosmic Psychos. They issued their debut album, ''Down on the Farm'', in December 1985. Several albums have followed and were backed by national tours and international tours to Europe and North America including festivals with Mudhoney, Nirvana, L7, Helmet and Motörhead. In 1990 Jones was replaced by Robbie Watts on guitar and vocals. By 2005 Walsh was replaced by Dean Muller ( Hoss, Chris Russell's Chicken Walk) on drums. Bill Welsh (April 25, 1911 – February 27, 2000) was a radio and television announcer. Early years Welsh born in Greeley, Colorado, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Welsh. He attended the Colorado State College of Education. Career Welsh's career in broadcasting began with a part-time job at radio station KFKA in Greely. Beginning as a disk jockey and announcer, he expanded his work into gathering news and giving evening newscasts. His coverage of the murder of a police sergeant caught the attention of executives at KFEL radio in Denver, and he went to work there next, staying at that station from 1935 to 1942. Welsh's television debut came in the broadcast of a hockey game on KTLA in Los Angeles. His broadcasting of sporting events included the first telecast of a Rose Bowl Game, in addition to coverage of football games of southern California colleges and games of the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference.
